i was just thinking of this today, many many years ago i was torn between two loves- i truly loved them both, but one was more my best friend and the other was great sex, i had to choose best friend or best sex, in the end i picked the best friend, and now 22 yrs later when i think the sex is just about on the back burner , im glad i made the right choice !!!! im still with the " best friend " but i still wonder what would of been ? oh well, maybe i should stop thinking so much and start supper....lol

I, too, am glad you made the right choice. What is it about this time in our lives to think about all the "what ifs"? A little advice to you: Just make sure you never bump into or try to contact the other lover now all these years later! There is a lost love type of thing that goes on w/ our age for some reason. I know.... Four years ago I bumped into my first love at a school reunion who I had not seen in 25 years. Big mistake! Peri is just not the time for such drama and emotion. Even though I am very happily married, I thought I could handle it, but boy was I wrong. Maybe a lot of what I am dealing with is the feelings that reunion w/ him brought about. I am just now having a hot flash thinking about it!!!!

You may be able to handle a chance meeting w/ the other guy, but I just could not. The subconscious is a powerful thing.

Yeah you did make the right choice, because even great sex "gets old". We all eventually slow down in that department, if we are "best friends" then it has a smoother transition. I was REALLY sad when my husband began slowing down in that area ( he is 6yrs older), but THEN I started to slow down also..........

Truth is, sex is great, but it's more about the connection to everything else that made up our life. I think you did the right thing!
