I have a long history with palps, but for the last several years they have been pretty good. I have some everyday, the skipped beat kind, but usually not many. This week they have started back with a vengence. I had 2 months of these type of palps 2 years ago that drove me nuts. Skipped beats every minute around the clock. I haven't had a period since Feb. so maybe my hormones are dancing around again. I am so worried I am going back to that same pattern again of frequent skipped beats that may last for who knows how long. Anyone been palp free only to have them return? I did have sinus infection several weeks ago and was on an antibiotic and decongestant, but I ended both of those meds last week. I didn't have any trouble while on the meds, the palps started up after I finished. Thanks for any help, Hope

I have had the skipped beat kind since I was a teenager. They definitely come and go. I can go years without any, and then I'll have months of them every day. I've tried all kinds of things to stop them, nothing works forever. I have had all the tests and most of the time I can convince myself that they aren't hurting me. But that doesn't mean that they don't drive me crazy. I spent the last 4 months with them every day, hormonal I assume. And stress - my husband has been out of work for 8 months now! They aren't so bad this week. And I am hoping that once he gets a job, they will let up for awhile.
I can relate them to stress, dehydration, diet and lack of sleep. Any or all of those can set me into days of flipping and obsessing.
Try not to worry too much, they always settle back down. Sometimes it takes quite awhile. But those weeks of no flips are just heaven.
