So I went to the doctor about the "chest pain"...for safety sakes I am having a EKg today, but she says she is almost certain it is Costochondritis...

Thanks for all your information ladies.

Now does anyone use Advil and does it work?

There are some old threads posted about this, ry to check them out. they may have better answers than I can give you. I know my mom uses advil and it helps a bit, she also uses warm pads that you heat in the microwave. She uses it at night to help sleep. I hope this helps.

Hi

I had costo for years, boy what a pain it is. I had to learn my limits. My ribs would sometimes just ache and ache. I couldn't lift heavy things for a very long time, every time I did the costo would flare up. The oddest thing I found with it was the bruised feeling I would get, I would not be able to push on my ribs because they felt bruised but they weren't. My right side was the worst especially the floating rib, it would just plain hurt. But I found the best thing was advil for the inflamation and asper cream, I would rubv that on the sore parts and it helped so very much, it stopped the ache within minutes. It has no oder and not oily, just rub it in really good and hopefully you'll get some relief. HOpe you feel better soon.

Hugs,
Patty

Wow not to say that is awesome news, but it is great news. It is an answer, and that's what we are all looking for! It takes away alot of the fears!!!

Thanks for letting me the outcome....

Aleve works the best for me. The naprosyn(sp) in it is actually designed for this type of pain.

I am also started to drink that new product Eleations, Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. Only been 2 days, taste pretty good. But I hear in some areas a little pricey. I got it for $5.99 for a 6 pack at Publix, don't know if that was a sale price or not. Says takes up to 2 to 4 weeks, will give it a try. I will let you know if it helps any... Soaking in hot epson salts baths help in more ways than one too....
