Hi All!

I'm 42 and feeling like I've probably been in peri for a couple of years, but didn't notice because I was pregnant and then postpartum, nursing, sleep deprived, etc...... But the last few months I've started putting together a list of symptoms and patterns that point to peri. My doc confirms that it seems to be so and I am going to have hormone levels (and thyroid, etc.) checked beginning of next week (post-luteal phase).

I have always had a slightly irregular cycle - often a little long - 32 days. But as I got older it has been more regular - about 30 days. I never used to do much counting, but now am counting to see when these annoying symptoms crop up.
From day 1 to day 12 everything was pretty good with the anxiety and depression - dare I say I felt normal!!! LOL. I did have a 4 day headache in there, but I was functional.

Now on day 13 I have had a dizzy/low blood pressure feeling event...... (had 'em last month, too..... and I know the tides are turning.

I'm just curious about when others feel things flip to the "dark side"?

thanks for your responses!

All best,
Cynthia

Dear Cynthia
So sorry for all you are going through. It is very stressful at times so enjoy those 'normal' days as they come
I 'flipped' at age 39 when found to be fully Post Menopausal.
At the time I thought I was having a nervous breakdown and was put on Prozac 20mgs.It really helped but the turning point came when I had my annual Gyno. and after all Tests started me on the HRT.
It has worked well for me but it is not everybody's cup of tea-or coffee-if you are able to drink coffee without the jitters!
The good news is that there are plenty of Herbal Supplements to help plus BHRT,if you wish.
Anyway, get yourself a thorough Gyno. check up and let him check your Thyroid too as this gland loves to play around when Menopause comes a calling

Hopefully, you will transit smoothly as many ladies do.
Either way, hope to see you here posting often
We have a great team of kind thoughtful ladies who have or are still walk in the murky Menopausal waters!

God Bless

hi,
If you are asking when the tides of peri hit....for me I would say for sure 38 and mildly before that.......if you are asking what time of the mo. the symptoms hit there used to be a schedule, or at least some repetitive time frames that I could count on things going haywire, but now it comes and goes without any normalsy....I have had cycles 2x's a mo. for about 3 years now so my symptoms really have just been running right together from one cycle to another, now I sit here as my cycle is due today, I had a cycle 28 days from today then one that started 1 1/2 weeks ago which was light and lasted 5 dyas and now I can feel my legs aching agian, palp's, dizzy, weepy, hot....if I get another one this will me the 1st mo I would have had 3 cycles in 28 days....so my symptoms never seem to take a break lately, there is no time during the mo. that I feel nothing anymore so now I have to gauge how bed my symptoms are from day to day not whether they are there or not....when they are milder I call that a good day. HUGS Mikki

Hi Cynthia

Mine seems to really head south during ovulation....the last 3 days have been really bad. I am just starting to track evreything so I will have to see when my symptoms ease up.

days 6-12 with a (3 day period-25 day cycle).......ovulation.......noticed that change about 4 years ago. I'm 47 in a few weeks.
I am fine, well, in my opinion lol, before my period. A day of rage but that's about it.
Ovulation, ovulation, ovulation.....my biggest enemy!!!!!!!!!!!

The heaviest fatigue, brain fog, dizziness, headaches.
Was so fed up with it today that I went for an Iron Infusion to see if it would help get me back on my feet. Low serum ferritin anyway sad.gif

I am 41 and have been going through this stuff for approx 2 1/2 years but didnt know what it was back then. Until I started putting 2 and 2 together! at first, it started out being bad only the week before my period and then a few days into. Now it seems from the time I get ready to ovulate until about 3 days after I start. My periods are starting to come about every 25 days instead of every 28. I have the dizziness, back and abdominal cramping, anxiety, mood swings, hot flashes, night sweats.......... I dont know but I am tired of being a woman. If this dont start easing up some shortly, I may have to go postal, JK but I'd like to some times!
