I've been away from the forum for awhile...been feeling pretty good...but this month had some brown spotting in with ovulation (for the first time in my entire life)....plus I have felt very depressed, sort of a similar feeling to post partum stuff. I'm not due for my period though yet for another couple weeks.

I'm 34 1/2 yrs old...I know that's young for this board, but on the other hand I know my mom started peri when she was in her mid to late 30's although she died in a car wreck at age 43 so I can't, of course, ask her about it.

I realize its "common" to have spotting like that but I NEVER have mid cycle spotting. Does it mean anything? It wasn't alot...only showed up light brown on toilet paper, nothing more. It was definitely ovulation too, I'm sure you all don't need yet another description. haha.

Your not to young to experience hormonal problems or even an early perimenopause. Most docs say that we tend to follow our mothers timeframe for peri/meno. Sorry I don't know about the brown spotting with ovulation. I would suggest making a call to you gyn and see what they tell you. Regards, JZZ

I get the brown spotting quite often , it started in my late 30s now 48 but has been more frequent this past year. It always happens on day 14 of my cycle and I usually feel really horrible but strangely very frisky, also can have pain on one side for a few days either side of that day I have had been diagnosed with a large fibriod which might not be helping the situation.

I almost always get spotting like that at ovulation, in fact had some yesterday! Correction I frequently get it now that I am in peri. Yes, I I believe I was ovulating yesterday! And yes I feel like KAK today...ick....
Anyway I think my peri started when I was 35 or so..that is when I noticed my periods got wierd...heavier, later, earlier lighter more painful etc. I thought it was just my body weight but now I realize that I have more symptoms that it was the start of peri.

I am 49 and started spotting two weeks into my cycle in my 30's right after I had my tubes tied. I have found it to be annoying, but it never amounted to be anything but that, annoying. I always have my yearly visits to the gyno and it's all normal, so I wouldn't worry, mention it of course, but try not to worry. Ever since then they are all wacky cycles and I am so ready to be done once and for all.
