So i go into my doctors office because she wanted to do a 6 month check up on how the HRT were making me feel and how I was doing? I told her much better- so what did she do she took me off them because I am breaking out all over and my weight is up. She says come back in a month and we will do another hormone panel and be more extensive about it this time. I called my husband and he about cried. He was like you are finally feeling normal and wanting to do things again and she did what. I sat there and cried because I don't feel like anyone understands. Like I really want to be suicidal and lay in bed all day long- not my idea of fun. She did keep me on my AD so maybe that will keep me going for a month. mad.gif

Okay that makes no sense. Why not keep you on the hormones. Take some blood work and then adjust if need be. If your feeling better I don't understand her reasoning behind this. If you are okay with breaking out and the weight issue why isn't she. Is there something else she is concerned about?

I agree what is up with that... I have one word..... DOCTORS!!!! OMGish, don't they get it... Can't you put a call into her, and just tell her.... Say you know, I am feeling better that I have in long while, prior to taking me off, I am request that you rerun hormone test. Hun, stand up for your self, if you feel you need them, and apparently you do, then she needs to offer a VALID explanation as to WHY she took you off so soon....

I am sorry, but these dang doctors don't make any sense...

Hun you hang in there, and please do call her, you have that right! It's your body, and you know your body better than anyone else...

That's CRAZY!! I don't think you need to be off for a month to recheck hormones. Maybe a week. I would call back for a sooner appointment! Doctors can be such idiots.

She took you off without doing blood work?
Seems odd!
Breaking out because you had a rash? Could be from anything!
Tell her you had been in poison ivy!
I have never taken hrt's and gain 18# in a year!
Hug!

Do NOT alllow the doctor to dictate to you about his! You need to stand up for yourself and demand that you stay on the hormones. Gaining some weight and breaking out is NOT life threatening! Not unless each condition is severe and even then, it's not life threatening. You need a second opinion, IMO. You have every right to stand up for yourself in this and tell her you want to stay on them for now and have blood drawn in the meantime.

Please let us know how it goes....I'll be thinking about you and praying. Don't worry...it will work out. I'm sure your doctor will understand if you tell her how you feel about it. Sometimes I think we feel we can't question their judgement and that's just not TRUE! You have every right to question their judgement when it comes to your own health...any doctor that doesn't agree shouldn't be a doctor!
