Hello,
I was wondering whether any of you have noticed that when using estriol cream 2mg/g that you only get side effects at certain times of the month? I seem to be fine up until about day 20 and since then have been feeling a bit of pms including very agitated after applying it and a bit hard to control myself from getting frustrated with myself and others.
I have cut down on my progesterone dose this month as well so that may have affected things.

Hi there,
Looks like you are having issues with the estriol. I believe it is a pregnancy hormone and some woman just can't tolerate it. I think I may be one of those women too.
I have been experimenting with HRT--I started with bi-est 80/20 but started having a lot of symptoms that I had never had before. Finally--after experimenting with bi-est-50/50 and various amounts--someone suggested trying Estrogel. I used it sparingly. One pump lasted almost two months instead of the recommended month. BUT--then the pharmacist scared me and suggested that I really should have some ESTRIOL--so I went on 20/80 biest--which is 20 percent estradiol and 80 percent estriol. Now--I have symptoms back.........inability to fall asleep..........strong vaginal odor...............breast tingling..........just irritated. I am wondering if I should go back to the ESTROGEL--DOES ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAVE ISSUES WITH ESTRIOL???????????THANKS--FOR ANY HELP.

Dear Laine:

Not knowing your age and what else you might be using with the Estriol, I would assume these PMS symptoms could be from not enough Estradiol also, and maybe not enough Progesterone during the luteal phase of the cycle either? May be time to test, around day 21 of the cycle, and measure the following hormones: Estriol, Estradiol, progesterone, DHEA, and Testosterone and Cortisol. Here is our patient empowerment program to follow so we can help you- https://www.bellevuerx.com/patientempowerment.aspx
Thanks,
