I have had pleurisy and it is not fun! I'm wondering why the dr. didn't give you antibiotics?? OH, now I see, you have not been diagnosed with Pleurisy. Let us know what they find.

Honestly, though I ain't a doctor, I doubt that you have Pleurisy, as it is very painful, and symptoms are made worse when breathing, in other words it would hurt each time you breathed. Still get it checked of course, no doubt...

When I had pleurisy it felt like a heart attack. My left arm was completely numb, my chest hurt so bad to breathe and I was constantly coughing.

My Mom had it twice and it is painfyul. The doctor will know whther or not it is pleurisy. She said it would hurt everytime she breathed in and that she felt a water-logged type of sensation. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi, I've had pleurisy - a few years ago - and it really does hurt. It hurts so much to breathe in, makes your chest hurt and coughing hurts so much. I did get tablets from my Dr for it, but it took ages to go. I think I did get fluy type symptons with it also.

Its a good idea to have a check up at the Dr's - it would be best to get a diagnosis and antibiotics if necessary - because if it is pleurisy it can get very painful.

Hugs and hope you feel better soon.

Funny you should mention pleurisy,as years ago I went to Dr,s with a pain (like I am getting now)(re post Becca,s link)

And he said pleurisy, didn,t give me anything at the time if my memory serves me right dry.gif obviously wasn,t as didn,t go back.

So just wonder if whatever was amiss then is the same problem now??

But it is very uncomfortable, just moves around sometimes in the breast/under breast/in ribs/shoulders. Sometimes just niggling/aching away, then other times sharp quick pains and sometimes feels like a stitch?

It vanished for ages just like everything else then comes back when your least expecting it.

If you are worried go to Dr,s I went lots of times and I,m at Dr,s next week and will mention it again,as it,s back.
