Hi ladies, this week has not been easy for me. Been getting these burping, dry nose (causing unsmooth breathing) and top left breast/chest ache as well as aches at shoulder blade area. Can anyone tell me visible symptoms of heartburn vs any heart problems just to allay my fears. Thanks for hearing me. God bless. blessy

You know that can be hard, bcz they can so mimick each other, and too had a hard time w/that. Just so that you do know GERD aka Acid Reflux can cause in addition to the burping of course, it can also cause issues w/your sinuses (which may be the dry nose). I too get the left chest aches, it goes all the way around to my back. I use to get stabbing chest pains, which of couse scare the you know what out of me. I did go to the doctor, and had all kinds of test ran, and it came back that I had Costochondritis (sp); (See the posting on rib/chest pain that we had just yesterday or the day before).

The key thing is, you want to get check by a doctor, not only too make sure everything is okay, but to quiet your mind. Yes I know that it can be scary, but what is more scary is the not knowing. I would never want to tell someone oh it's just Acid Refux, bcz I am not a doctor. What I will tell you what you are experiencing so many of us do too. But it is good to get checked out, cuz there might be things that you can do to help. IE, say if you find out you are just have chest wall pain, well then you can do things to help that.

So give yourself so peace of mind, get a check up. I am going to go next week for mine...

In the meantime, try adding some probiotics supplements, and see if that helps w/your burping and stuff.

As for the chest aches, does it hurt any more or differently when you stretch? when you lift something? Does it hurt when you push down your chest?

Read the previous "rib/chest pain"; get a check-up; and in the meantime know that so many of us are experiencing the exact same thing....

Maybe some other ladies can add some more info for you... Blessings on ya sweetie....

I was just thinking of starting this very topic!

This morning while drinking my coffee I felt a weird sensation behind my breastbone. Of course it scared me. I burp all the time. I have that lump in my throat which to me is heartburn. I've also had many many tests for my heart from EKG's to an echocardiogram and they come out normal.

One doctor told me that if it were my heart I would have pain while doing any form of exercise or while in motion. It doesn't come to me that way. I can walk and workout and not have any issues.

Of course it all leads to anxiety!

How do we know what it is?

It is so weird how this keeps coming up, like i said we just were talking about this yesterday, and then someone else just recently posted about chest pain.... Strange how things go in cycles w/us, it really is....

Someone out there doing a little voodoo on us girls.... just kidding, but it is weird how it comes in cycles...

Check out this post on very similar topic that was just talked about yesterday....

Thanks Becca for your good advice. In fact, I had gone to a doctor twice last Saturday and Monday. 1st doc told me it could be due to my cholesterol level of 248 (HDL 96, LDL 137) ratio 2.6. 2nd doc did an ecg which turns out fine but highly recommended that I go for a stress test. I had some pills for heartburn and nausea at this moment. Will be going next month for my annual health check and keeping my fingers crossed. Just wonder if all these are peri-related... God bless. smile.gif blessy
