Yuppers,

Loose to constipated within 12 hours
Terrible bloating and gas pain
Nausea
Heartburn
Burning stomach after eating
Cravings have turned to salt.....I am a chip freak now.....and NEVER used to be. A bag of chips would sit for months years ago...now I have the whole bag gone in one day!

Hi Medium

WOW..isn't it amazing we can all have the same symptoms???
I use to prefer sweet to salty now I can't have sugar so I have a handful of chips a day. If I weren't afraid of wht more salt would do to my already uncertain bowels..I would eat the whole bag!! smile.gif

Hiya Maura,

Right when we think we are strange birds and nobody else has our symptoms, Wham yes there are others who have shared these things to.
I for one have had all this to.

I will say one thing that really helped me alot was adding Probiotics supplements along with ACTIVIA YOGURT. I also added DIGESTIVE ENZYMES by solaray.
For the gas I take a tea which is a mixture of Chamomile and Anise very very soothing and lets those suckers out real good, LOL.

When the stools are loose I just have a lovely bowl of fresh white rice add a dash of soy sauce for flavor.

I do exercise its so important even though I hate it I DO IT.

I watch what I eat around this time of the month, and never miss my supplements.

You know as we get a bit older we dont make quite the same amount of stomach acid. What happens when we complain of heartburn they give us stuff to kill the acid when in fact the problem is not enough.

My hubby was going thru this and then I read and saw a program on APPLE CIDER VINEGAR WITH MOTHERS BY BRAGGS. They also sell yummy salad dressings.

Well when hubby had heartburn they said to take a TBL spoon of this stuff or if you didnt have any then any type of vinegar or pickle juice.

WAHLA, SUCCESS it helped eminsely and now he lives by this. He has his salad everyday, has his apple at the end of the day and when he eats something that triggers it he will have a TBL spoon of this stuff.

Now this is my opinion I dont claim to be a docter but this has worked for us and I am passionate about helping anyone who will listen or at least give it a try.

God bless you

Oh yes one more thing I stopped coffee, sodas, and drink herbal teas , water , yummy cranberry juice with crused ice and a splash of lemonaide.

Yep, Count me in! I get all of it too.

I take a daily probiotic and it has lessened the number of times during a month a get these painful episodes.

GREAT ADVISE...

I have said this so many times, you can look back when I first started, OMGish I had acid reflux so bad that I had blisters in mouth. Everyday popping Zantac, what ever I could find.

Yep Probiotics also w/digestive enzymes. I had to TOTALLY change my diet for about two weeks, cut all the bad stuff out, wow it has been sense before summer started since I last to Zantac, and that says alot....

Also a tsp of Backing soda helped heal my blisters on my lip, and more than likely my esoshpagus (sp)...

Herbal Tea is AWESOME...

And yes, I have heard AWESOME things about Apple Cider Vinegar...

Great advise thanks again... tinkybug...

Hi Tink

WOW...it's nice to know others experience this as well.
I have been on the probiotics for 3 months now and I take digestive enzyemes with my dinner, perhaps I should take them with my breakfast too and see if that makes a difference.

I drink Chamomile tea alot but maybe I will try the anise too.
I walk every morning for 30 mins. How much exercise and what do you do?

I have not tried the ACV but that might be something to consider.
Back in March I was given Nexium and took it for 2 weeks..it made things so much worse and I think that is how I ended up with the candida overgrowth. <sigh> I will no longer blindly trust my doctor...I shouldn't have in the beginning.

I am on a anti candida diet so no sugar, wheat, fruit, yeast, alcohol, caffine etc for me. I will also have to wait until the Candida is over to try the ACV there is no vinager allowed on this diet.

Thanks for all the advice....sounds like you have good control on your system now.

Sorry to hear your having such problems. They were the first signs of peri I had,all but the hemmorids.Didn't leave the house without antacids in my purse it seemed eveything I ate caused me problems.I would get so bad that my heating pad and ice pac were my best friend.

The only thing that worked for me was yogart.I had to give up Milk, garlic, spicey foods and gassy foods like cabbage,beans..I noticed after awhile all my stomach issues where gone.Dr though it was in my head.Im post now and I still have to watch what I eat.But I still eat my yogart with flax almost everyday.

I have had IBS for many many years and when it flares, it cause all the symptoms you are describing. It can be awful. It seems to last forever. When anything stresses me, anything at all, even good stress, my stomach instantly knots up and boom, the whole process starts. I take all the things that everyone described, even aloe water, but, it really just takes time. Xanax helps sometimes too, to calm the nerves and stomach. I hope you feel better soon.
Trudysmom
I had IBS for years. FINALLY, I decided to try Peppermint pills. WOW, works fast. Take WITH food. The directions on my Peppermint pills said empty tummy. That made me nauseated. BUT, if I take just one with food, all if FINE and all cramping stops.
epdp2
as someone who has had/continues to have the full gamut of digestive woes, i concur with most of the helpful tips here. the probiotics have helped me immensely. & the peppermint pills have been useful on the bad d-prominent ibs flares. the only word of caution that i have about those is that they may upset the acid reflux/heartburn.

I could never tolerate yogurt....even a small amount would cause gas, bloating, stomach pain, the runs,etc....but an aunt told me that yogurt has really helped her IBS and if i just ate it on a daily basis, after about a couple of weeks my stomach would adjust and start improving....so i bought some....severe stomach pain,gas,etc...but i kept eating it anyway, and she was right, after about 2 weeks all that went away and i have been having much, much less stomach problems.I've never not had a rumbling, upset stomach before and it feels great....
Dazed and confused
A little note about cider apple vinegar.

It's well known as a good store cupboard home remedy for a number of things and it's also an excellent tonic for laying hens and for horses although I don't have horses myself I can certainly say my hens seem to thrive on a monthly dose in their drinking water.

One thing though, wonderful stuff it certainly is but a lot of the goodness of it is lost when it is pasteurised. If you find it does you good you might find unpasteurised is even better.
