Hi girls,

Because I had a hysterectomy at the age of 30 I have no way at all to track my ovarian cycle anymore. I have a basic idea due to PMS symptoms that occur around the end of each month.
I have noted that my derealization becomes severe around the time that my breasts get very sore, my anger flares and strangely I gain about 5 pounds in fluid...so obviously the lead in to what WOULD have been the eventual period occurring.
I am in that place this week.....my temper has gone out of control, I have no patience for anyone, I cannot stop moving...rocking again...and my derealization is really bad. My question is to you ladies who still get a period.........does this part of the cycle make the derealization worse for you or the brain fog worse? dry.gif

Yes, I am at that place right now. Today is especially bad. My period is due in 6 days and my breasts have been sore for the past week but the derealization has started today with the anger, not being able to relax, that doom feeling. I hate this feeling more than anything. Feel bloated and everyone is getting on my nerves.

I had a partial last year. I was already suffering with peri before the surgery and of course it reared its ugly head again about three months following the surgery. I have been using Progesterone oil caps prescribed through my Doctor and filled by Bellevue. I no longer notice all of the pms symptoms anymore so talk about really having no idea where I am in my cycle sheeesh ! If I didn't have peri it probably wouldn't be a bad thing at all!

I don't know because my periods are so very screwed up right now having gone eight months w/o one and then all of a sudden a flooding one that lasts 2 weeks. But I just know that for some reason my breasts are really sore right now, I am retaining fluids really badly, AND the derealization has gotten much worse. Also, the detached feeling is so much worse. When oh when does this end????? I cannot bear this DR/DP the rest of my life I just know that much. See my post on Bechet's Disease in the "Other Diseases, etc." thread. There really is no day when I do not have the DR/DP.... it just varies in the severity of it.

Hope we can finally figure all this stuff out or find someone who can for us.

hugs,

huh.gif Hi ladies ........ yeah the derealization and detachment can definately get WORSE before your period! Sure, because the hormones are going wild! I get this nonsense a lot, and especially before my period .... well, for me, i seem to deal with that at any time really, but i do notice it gets much worse about 10 days before my period. Also, my temper and irritablity gets worse, and my patience is non existant ...as well as the brain fog, and forgetfullness.

I have had occaisonal episodes of DP/DR and there really is nothing worse. I did read that DR, tho terrifying, is a manifestation of anxiety: I guess the idea is that if a lion is about to eat you and you are running for your life it is helpful to "step outside" the situation so you can figure out what to do. Anyway, for me taking xanax during an episode and quieting the adrenaline surge helped me feel more normal again.

It was also such a relief to read posts here and realize I was not going crazy for good!

YES YES YES!!! This is where I am right now!! Day 22 and I feel like a floating, confused, dizzy, cranky mess!!! Having to make myself THINK harder "did I take my iron?" etc, just loopy! I also have my menstrual migraine going so I was going to google menstrual migraine to see if my Dr/Dp dizziness feeling is a part of that too....ugh, this is so much not fun! I hate feeling like I am moving when I am not and the endless "checking" that comes with this for me also.

I have found myself checking out older women lately to see if they really do look and act as though they are feeling "normal" and have made it through this crappy stuff...most of them, unless they are super oldies, do look like they are feeling pretty good, strong and in charge, driving with courage and shopping in stores by themselves...this is encouraging to me because I feel like I can't drive because I would be too nervous of how I am "feeling" and forget going into stores, I start feeling like my head is warm and buzzing and the floating feeling starts....sigh.....

Hello New to the forum and read these posts. I get the DR thing as well. I always associate it with migraine eyes, feels like everything is slightly off in the world around me. The migraines can cause dizziness and sometimes you can get this w/out clasic migraine HA symptoms. I had light sensitivity and dizziness for a couple of years before the actual HA. I think the DR feelings can also be related to migraine. I to often feel like I am moving

Has anyone used Bioidenticals successfully for the anxiety? When I took an over the counter progesterone I felt GREAT, I was like wow, I am healthy and strong and can enjoy life. This lasted two months then went haywire and became estrogen deficient. Now I am on estrogen for migraines cannot tell if it is working feel more edgy.

For anxiety I also take GABA and rescue remedy. Both I find very helpful.

Any other anxiety remedies out there?
Thanks!! Kahlan
