I went through peri and then finally post appeared (atlast). Though I still suffered from pain from endometrial tissue. I had one surgery to remove some of it but when it was still an increased problem the doctor suggested a hysterectomy. In short, I had the surgery, flew through that(thanks to the Da Vinci machine that did the surgery smile.gif ). A few days after surgery my body discovered anxiety. I had some during peri, but this was different...and more often.
During peri I went through the typical insomnia days...they disappeared. They are back as are the night sweats. Isn't going through it once enough!!!
Do you ladies have any suggestions, input, etc. I do have ativan for anxiety but try not to take it too much. Oh I have been on an estrogen patch since my hyster.

Assume you had your ovaries removed? Having a hysterectomy can actually make your symptoms worse in some cases. Sorry to tell you that. If you had the ovaries removed your body has went into shock because you have even fewer hormones being produced. Are you including any progesterone in your mix? Some doctors think you don't need it after a hysterectomy but I take it without a uterus and it has helped me greatly.

You may need to supplement with testosterone.

When the ovaries are removed your T level is reduced by 50%. If you had already been through menopause then your ovaries were already putting out a lower level of estrogen, but testosterone would have been as before. So if your ovaries were then removed, it is likely you would miss the T more than the E.
Adding back T for me when I had my TAH/BSO stopped anxiety and improved my mood tremendously although it doesn't stop hot flushes.
It's worth a try!

I had been without a period for 4 years when I had the surgery and they did remove everything. The anxiety started right away, but it has just been lately(a year after surgery) that the flashes, insomnia and moods have come about. Thanks for your input, I will have to look into your advice.

Have a good day smile.gif
