Has anyone ever hear of taking gabapentin for hot flashes? The doctor has suggested this and says it helps to reduce them by 66%.

Gabepentin is an antiseizure drug. The only reason I know that is because it was recommended to me once for my tinnitus.
Its my understanding that it can be used for pain among other things also.

Nana, Maybe you should give the prozac a few more weeks before changing, Ive heard many people say that it took a good 4-6 weeks before they saw improvement and if you've already had some improvement after a few weeks theres probably a good chance things will get better, I hope anyway.

Oh i will try the prozac for at least 8 weeks as it has helped. the gabepentin is the next step so i was wondering if anyone else had tried it. And yes it is a anti seizure drug so i'm not sure how it works for hot flashes.
