My husband and I have just returned from Dubai and on one day we the temp was 130 rising and i had to put myhusbands fleece on and he was laughing at me as i said i couldnt get warm.I went to our room with air con ,turned that off and still was shiverring shaking visibly teeth chattering etc. Now we are home and today went out and had it again as i couldnt get warm and stop shaking. Both episodes lasteed about 40 minutes very scary and strange...so was this a symptom of a cold flash i also had the feelings of doom after and then adrenaline surges following........I am due on in two days.Oh and went to the sauna at the gum yesterday and had same feeling on getting out.....Any thoughts I am a cold person but this wasnt just cold

I too was in Abu Dabia last summer and boy was it hot. I was cold and when i got home i had to wear a jogging suit for about 2 weeks till i regulated. Next time i go it will be in the fall or winter. I don't know if this helps or not. How did you like Dubia?

Dear Laxgirl'
I live in Amman Jordan and when first Menopausal would shiver un-contollably in very high temps. only to be drenching with sweat half an hour later!
Yes these 'cold flashes' are very common in the Menopausal Merry-go-Round along along with gloom and doom feelings plus higher levels of anxiety.
You might want to get your Hormone and Thyroid levels checked out. This will give you an idea of where you stand.

Anyway, you have come to the right place for support, friendship and lots of great information.

Warm Wishes
Elizabeth

I remember that!
I used to be absolutely freezing on the couple of days leading up to my period. It didn't seem to matter what the temperature was!
I really wouldn't be too worried about it, as long as it only happens just before your period. That sounds pretty normal to me!

Yes, I went through the same thing. Same time every day, would have to sit for hours on the sofa in an almost fetal position with piles of blankets and a heating pad in the Florida summer!

I do this all the time. I can not get enough blankets to get me warm. And then in the middle of the night, the covers come off. My husband always says , "What is the deal"? Are you cold or are you hot? But those freezing spells are not fun. But they must be normal, because so many people on this board say they experience them. Hang in there. Patsy
