I thought I would post this for those that haven't been able to do the survey so that all can get a feel for how we are suffering and with what. I have only inserted the top 15 answers so it is a bit easier to read in an image format. To take the survey click the first link in my signature, to view the results of the survey follow the second link.

I love the visuals with this chart. So cool for those of us with short attention spans to read all of the symptoms. Loved it!!!!!
davinci817
I would love to do some of the other questions this way but with only 74 answers so far the bigger charts for use of E and P just don't view well in chart format. Still need to research more on processing the data.

You're such a sweetheart for doing this. Thanks Beth! wub.gif

Great job, Beth! From the looks of this chart I'd say it's a wonder any of us can function at all! No wonder we are moody and irritable...looks like 1 out of 10 of us actually sleep at night. Now, can we get these results published somewhere so maybe a few MEN or even better DOCTORS will see it?
Thanks for doing this!!!

Interesting that those first 5 symptoms affect almost all of us....and are the ones that are usually listed as menopause symptoms in most articles. However, I don't think anyone who hasn't been through it themselves has any idea how truly unpleasant, and sometime debilitating those 5 symptoms can BE!!

Your survey has been very interesting, Dav. Thanks for doing it!!

Thankyou, for going to the huge effort of doing this,

When it,s put like this makes you feel a bit better and not so alone

I love this! Thanks so much for putting it together. I plan to show it to everybody I know who thinks I am either making my symptoms up or don't believe the symptoms are hormone-related. Maybe then my mother won't keep pushing me to go to a shrink so they can diagnose me as bipolar.

This was the main reason for doing some of the questions in the survey. I know we all try to jump in someones thread to comfort them that they aren't alone and that is important. Seeing how many suffer though with actual numbers is amazing imo. This chart is based on about 75 women who have answered so far. I would love to get more people to respond. Can you imagine 200 women all saying the same thing?
Webalina
You need to find a way to keep this on the top of the topics list, or at least on the first page of the "view new posts". That way more women will see it and hopefully contribute.

wink.gif Someone else is the smart one, whoever designed this program deserves the recognition. All I have done is typed in the questions given to me by the gals here on PS. The rest of it is pretty easy to do because the program is done so well. So I can't take any credit! Just glad so many are enjoying it.

Davinci,

You said, wink.gif Someone else is the smart one, but I have to disagree with you....YOU ARE the smart one, IMHO!! Thanks so much for all the work you put into this. I hope those who haven't taken it yet will, so we can see more results. Thanks again!!

What an amazing survey! Thank you davinci for putting that together! It really helps to see our perimeno experience "quantified" and in a visual format.

I was surprised to see that so many of us started with the peri symptoms in our late 30s! I'm sure most of us thought it wouldn't happen until we were about 50.

I was also surprised to see that only 20% of us don't have a life, LOL! I thought there would be more of us.

Dear 'greenie'
I think many more of us do not have a life but are not going to admit it!
Reading some of these Posts I can almost feel the pain and isolation of these wonderful ladies
Also people have different perspectives on what constitutes a meaningful life!so that may be part of the reason

With all my heart I pray that all Sisters do have a quality life, using whatever they have to do to get it!

I am one that answered I do still have a life and I do! I have bad moments but they don't ruin my life because I refuse to let them! I still love the same and that is what is most important.

Just doing my part to bump this up!!!!!! smile.gif
My life isn't quite what I would like it to be but I don't think it's peri/meno that's the primary cause. I have a life, it's just a bit more cluttered with "issues" at the moment than I want. One of these days things will calm down, RIGHT????

Just checked results again - over 100 responded - YAHOOO! Dav, you did a great job and thanks to everyone who responded. It is soooooooooooo comforting to see in black and white (ok, there were colors) that you are not alone. Imagine that - anxiety and depression are on the top of the list LOL.

I did have a few surprises:

1. Majority of periods started at 13 (in my family younger is the norm)
2. Most had normal cycles and normal pregnancies
3. Progesterone sure doesn't seem to help that much compared to estrogen

I am just sending out a warning. This afternoon I visited the Survey Monkey site to check up on the PS survey. I signed in to be able to see the results and at 4.50pm today my Hotmail email account has been attacked by a hacker. My account has been used to send out a virus to all my contacts.
It may be completely unrelated but it seems rather a coincidence as there has been very little other activity on my account in recent months. I have communicated with only very close friends in recent days. I have not opened anything odd. The hacker has entered directly into my account. BEWARE!

Be vigilent!

You shouldn't have to sign in to see the results!

Your Hotmail account is a web hosted email account, it is not hosted from your pc so unless you attached something to the emails from your PC then I doubt the virus is coming from you. I sign in and out of Survey Monkey all day long because you have to in order to do admin, no problems here.

I have noticed the same things.

I think the difference I see with P and E is that E is kind of even across the board but not any huge numbers as far as improvement/worsening in symptoms goes. P has stronger numbers going both ways, which is kind of what we know already it either works well or it work terribly on some.

While on this subject I would recommend doing a virus scan, you could well have a password logger on your pc. You can pick these up from random sites and they record your sign ins and passwords. A good way to avoid these types of scams is to copy and paste your password into different things so you are never actually typing it out. These programs pick up your key strokes. My son got one from a gaming site last year and he had one of his online games hacked into because of it. Also remember that images can contain viruses as well and just because you only get mail from "close friends" doesn't mean your close friend has a good anti virus program on their pc. One of my sons buddies used to come over and hook up to our network and he some how dropped an email spamming program into one of our pc's it started sending like 20k emails out of our main email accounts with our service provider.
