Full Version: Vibrations/Buzzing in Face at Night?

Hi Ladies - In the past couple of months I have been experiencing this new weird internal vibration I guess you could say at night, when I am laying down either trying to relax or go to sleep.

It feels like one side of face is buzzing/vibrating. Sometimes, it feels stronger than other times. It seems to hit me on my left side and near my eye, cheek area?

Does anyone else get this kind of sensation in their head or face?

I have had alot of tests already in the past year so I am NOT going back to the doctor. I had an MRI in March, all was normal.

I am still getting the jerking/jolts at night too....joy oh joy. And, oh don't let me forget ( because my memory is not the sharpest tool in the shed lately..) I have been getting pops or grunt like noises in my head sometimes as I fall asleep!

I can go for a time and all is quiet, then bam, it all hits me again.

Thoughts? Do you really think this is hormonal? I feel like an "old" 42 year old woman sometimes..stinks.

Thanks for reading and I would greatly appreciate your advice.

Take care

Hi Sunny,

Yeah, that's happened to me as well....... I've had the shakes ALL OVER! you name it, you can call it internal shaking, vibrating, tremors.... i don't care, i've had it! For pete sake, i've had it in my brain! I know that may sound funny, but that was the feeling, it didn't feel like it was vibrating in my head...it felt like MY BRAIN was vibrating.... that was fun! Scared the daylights out of me ....it's actually happened a few more times after that over the years, but with each time, it gets less. I've had the vibrating feeling on my face too, like you. It can be on any side really, but in the beginning of peri, EVERYTHING WAS ON THE LEFT! All my symptoms, were on the left side, it was incredible! But now...they don't discriminate....they just blast me anywhere in my body ... lol ... the vibrating and shaking can be one of the more scary symptoms, i think. You think you're having a stroke! I also get the jolts when i try to fall asleep .... now, that can be from hormones, OR it can be anxiety.... so, take your pick. Yes, it CAN be silent for a while, and then, suddenly, hit you again, most of the symptoms do that ... just when you think you're over it .. it comes back.

I hope this helps .. and don't worry, you're not alone in this! I'm surprised nobody picked up on this with you, but, I think others will .... it's happened to me a few times too, that nobody answered, .... it happens. But, if I were you, i stay here, you can learn a lot here, and usually, everyone is very supportive.....

Thank you so much My Darling, truly!!! I know it is said a thousand times over, but it really is comforting to feel support, that you are not alone. When I was younger and I "heard" about menopause, I thought oh no big deal, right? Wrong, for me personally it has been very hard. I have watched my body and the person I was disappear slowly. I want my old self back, normal everyday moods, to be be able to put my hand through my hair and not have a little ball of hair come out, to be able to go to bed and sleep 7 or eight hours, to be able to handle stress like I used to..but most of all, I really miss laughing and just feeling better.

Thank you again so much!!

Sunny I get this to but it's not just at night, my left cheek-under eye> will feel almost numb-buzzing etc, not sure what to call it! But it's not only at night can last all day and for days on end. Then it leaves and can be gone for months! Had the mri etc.
I have even had it go down into my lip area. Sounds horrible I know, once when it first hit I went to the ER thinking a stroke.
Not painful at all just a strange feeling. Sometime it helps to rub it with lotion!

Hi Sunny

I get the internal shaking all the time, especially in my face on both sides. Its really scary, I even looked in the mirror when I had it but I cannot see anything. Sometimes it feels like my whole left cheek is wobbling up and down. I too suffer with anxiety so put it down to that or meno-Who knows?

I also get pins and needles or restless leg syndrome even when I am standing up-Oh the joy of the meno. I did used to take anti depressants for my anxiety but due to the side effects came off them, Then the shaking got worse but I do feel its hormonal or anxiety.I am going to a menopause clinic in a few weeks and I am going to discuss this with them, I will let you know.

I hope this makes you feel better, I am sure its not serious as we all get it.

I went to my Doctor with a lot of symptoms especially anxiety, I mentioned the menopause but she was reluctant to put them all down to the hence the visit to the menoapsue clinic, I just need some answers as the symptoms make my anxiety worse.

Anyway I am rambling on a bit, I will let you know about the meno clinic. I take magnesium & calcium, evening primrose and startflower oil, B6 complex, lemon balm capsules (for anxiety), fish oils and a menopause supplement. I do think they help in some way. I also take beta blockers for my palapatations, I know I should be rattling soon.

PM me if you want any advice.

Good luck and thank god for this site all all you lovely ladies on here.
