Good morning! When did it start and do you take Estrogen and testosterone?

1/4 of all older women have this problem and probably more, but they don't mention it. LOL!

Peri and meno women often develop this when their estrogen levels decline.

Supplemental hormones are very effective in treating urinary incontinence. Sometimes you only need to start on a weak estrogen vaginal cream or suppository. Testosterone also helps to correct this.

If you having problems with urinary tract infections, there is a wonderful product called D-mannose. It will "cure" them within 3 days, without the use of antibiotics. They often use D-mannose with expensive race horses, too. Antibiotics for race horses can cost $1000. per day, but D-mannose is cheap and with out any side effects.

D-Mannonse is a simple type sugar...the e-coli (or whatever) jumps on the D-mannose...your urinary track becomes too slick for the bacteria to stick back on, and you pee it out. NO die off. Is is safe for babies, adults, and small furry animals. LOL! Yahoo search it and READ!

Ok Shebee,
This is just one more reason why I think I want to start BHRT! I've been doing this "peeing myself" business for a few years now and it's gotten ridiculous now. I can't believe my NP doesn't see my list of symptoms and feel I need some help. She just wants me to go "O Naturale" and I'm thinking, "not so much!"

Also, another product that can be used during a UTI is AZO. It is the non-prescription strength version of a drug called Pyridium. It almost instantly provides relief from the burning and pain associated with UTI. I am taking antibiotics right now for one and went out the first day and bought this stuff. It made all the difference in the world.

Hi ladies thanks for your replies.I am not on any bhrt. I still get regular periods well sorta. I do have a prolapse uterus so they say. And for a bladder infection i don't really get those. And i notice this when i was in my late 30's but not as bad as it is now.The gyno don't give me any ideas what to do, just that she said the kegel exercise really doesn't help. So anyways ......Thanks again. Terry

Liz,

Keep doing the kegels, even if you don't think they help. Keeping those pelvic floor muscles strong is very important and can put off required surgery for a time.

As Shebee suggested an estrgen cream, or even vagifem tablets should also help a little.

If nothing works then surgery would be the next step. My mother had this done. The recovery was a little rough for her as she expected to be back to normal in 3 weeks, not the 6 weeks the surgeon told her!! But after 6 weeks she was great. If it were me, I would want the surgery too.

You are in the US, so I guess your insurance will be the deciding factor. Such a rip off!!! Being in Canada, if a person requires the surgery, a person gets the surgery. No cost.

Hi. I'm new here. This is my first post.

I'm doing research for me and my family. Among other things, we're dealing with pelvic prolapse, some of which is severe. In the course of reading about our muscles and trying stretches, I came across info about our psoas muscles. I was amazed that I'd never heard of them. After a few days of doing stretches for them, and the piriformis muscles, I realized that I no longer peed in my pants when I laughed, sneezed, etc...

I don't sell anything, so I hope it's OK to post a link to my blog.

This blog is all about human muscles and what they can do for our health
