Megopause
Hi,
I apologize if this topic has already been brought up alot.

I have been reading the posts and I too have the heart issues, this morning I awoke with the racing and flopping and it lasted a lot longer than it ever has which of course scared me. When it finally calmed down after about 40 minutes, I got the adrenaline shakes for another 10 minutes. Funny thing is that while it was racing I did not have my panic fear feelings, this is different for me, I always get the panic with the heart issues.
Anyway, my question is has anyone gone on Progesterone pills and had their heartbeat a lot HEAVIER and HARDER at night while on the Progesterone? Is this a normal Porgesterone side effect? I stopped taking it because I felt it was making my heart work harder.

Thanks,
Meg

I did when I initially started it and also when they upped my dosage. Both times within a week and a half it diminished. You just have to get leveled. When I first started I would use xanax until it passed this most recent time when my dose of P increased I survived with no added help. How long have you been taking the P?

Oh, thanks so much for responding!! I took 1, 12.5 mg pill for 2 nights and then 2 pills for the next two nights and I was feeling horrible with worse anxiety and the heavy heart racing and I felt as though I was wearing a lead suit or something, very heavy when I awoke to use the bathroom, that's when I stopped because I was to up my dose to 3 pills the next night and I thought "no way" I was afraid my heart was having to work too hard because it was pounding so heavily. I did just give it another go a couple of days ago for two nights on one pill and the same thing happend. So, you think I just needed to just stick with it and it would have leveled and those symptoms would go away? I wonder if I should have stuck with it but with only one pill or if I should have continued up to the 4 pill dose as I was instructed to....gosh, I don't think I could have tolerated it very wellthough, I would have been extra panicky for sure...I do have Valium I could have taken I guess although that scares me too, oh gosh, this is just such a confusing bunch of malarky this hormone game!! So you are doing well on P? Which symptoms has it helped you with?
I just don't know what to do, but thanks so much for relating your story with me!!

Honestly I know it is so very troubling to have your symptoms worsen but I would give it another solid week or so and would probably only take one pill right before bed too. You don't want it building up to much if it turns out you really can't tolerate it at all and many women can't. I have done very well with P. Once I got balanced the only thing that I ever took notice of was heart palps a few days out of each month which happened like clock work, so obviously cyclic. Of course as mentioned above recently they upped my dose and I got a bit of anxiety and palps again. Still waiting for a new lower dose to come in but am doing okay taking my 220 every other night just to keep it in my system.

Before I took P my symptoms covered about 27 of the 34 meno symptoms, so to sit here and tell you that I have had mild palps and anxiety feels like I am beating this for now! This is so much better than taking all the other crap I was using that didn't help. I wish everyone could get this much relief.

If you really can't tolerate it at all then don't take anymore and call your Doctor to see what he/she has to say. P isn't for everyone.
