Hello ladies,
I'm still puzzled of this whole meno/depression crap. If I been post for 6 yrs with no symptoms ever..still have all my parts would there be a reason to go on hormones? All I suffer from right now is anxiety and depression and no appetite. Which I think maybe my AD is effecting my appetite. I have alot of stressors in my life right now and was wondering if hormones play a role. I don't want to start hrt if I don't have to. I've always been a insecure person but was always able to deal with it. With a tragic episode back in sept sent me in this mess. All doctors I have shrink, intern, endo say anxiety. My gyn says if I never had peri symptoms ever I don't need hormones. I just can't handle life in general of enjoy it right now.. So what do you think.
love you guys.....hugs char

I am only in peri so I don't really know. I would think you could take something for anxiety but not hrt. I would keep talking with your doctor.
good luck.

I dont know .. if your looking for an opinion I can give you one. If you have been post I wouldnt start throwing hormnes in my system, to many side effects. it sounds like what ever traumatic event took place in your life is causing the depression and anxiety and sounds like you are seeing specialists/therapists for that. Remember psychologists/psychiatrists are doctors too .. if your not getting the answers you need and help to fight the anxiety I would change doctors. Start keeping a journal ,, write in it about your feelings and work through your past and set some goals for yourself. Remember happier times and try to get back there. Lay in quiet calming place and dredge up your best memories.. keep those in focus..

I don't think hormones would be the answer at this point either. Not to mention it is dangerous to start taking hormones after being 3 years post.
I didn't realize that you have a traumatic event which set off the symptoms. Definitely check out adrenal fatigue.
