I am new to this group and I hope everyone doesn't think I am insane, but I can't seem to feel or find my clitoris. I know it used to be bigger and down there, but it is gone. Anyone know why it would disappear? This is really not a joke. Thank you.

wow....sorry you are having this problem....have you taken a mirror and looked to see if it's still there?I've never heard of this before....maybe some other ladies will have some advice for you...

OH my gosh...mine has shrunk considrably in size too.I have no clue what the deal is and refuse to ask my gyno, for fear off the " Your crazy " look .

Mine has not disappeared but it is considerably smaller than when I was in my 20s. I have not asked my doctor about it but have read quite alot about this crappy ride and have learned that are many changes that take place "down there".

I agree with moonlight, check yourself with a mirror and if you are still worried, please go talk to your doctor. It may be embarassing to you but well worth your piece of mind!!

I have read about this-it is caused by vaginal atrophy and can be reversed by hormone creams. I myself used testosterone and it made mine grow a bit bigger-seriously -(I overdosed a bit in the beginning)
So don't worry, go to the doctor-you will be able to get it back to normal.

Get some lubricant, and find it. It's there, albeit smaller I'm sure. Lay on your back, and be gentle. Janet is absolutely right, hormone creams can help a lot!

I know this no joke and is worrying but when I was suffering from Vaginal Atrophy everything had diminished in size and the are was sore and dry,
After going on HRT it made a big difference
Am not suggesting this is right for you but it might be a good idea to have a Gyno. appointment and see what is going on

You are not insane and there is no need for embarassment.We are all ladies struggling along as best we can.

So make that appointment

Joyce has made some good suggestions. Sometimes adding a bit of vaginal testosterone can increase the size of the clitoris.

I thought the same thing a while back. The hood seemed to be there, but nothing else. And I notice that off and on. But I have ALSO noticed that when I am sexually excited (I'm one of the lucky ones that peri didn't effect my sex drive), my clitoris is completely back to normal. So you're probably fine. But like the others have said, if it bothers you talk to your doctor.

Why are they always adjusting and moving it around all the time anyway?Does it crawl around on it's own or something and they have to keep putting it back where it belongs?It grosses me out....i am out-numbered by males in my house and one of them is always scratching or adjusting....and they think nothing of it either.....bit i don't want to see that!!

I KNOW THAT IF YOU HAVE EXCESS TESTOSTERONE, THE CLITORIS CAN GET VERY LARGE....SO MAYBE YOU HAVE VERY LOW TESTOSTERONE. I HAVE NO IDEA...JUST A THOUGHT.

Mine lowered when I started the south beach diet (low carbs high protein) because you are cutting down the insulin in your system which results in T storage in your cells. The progesterone helped to lower it as well by getting me balanced.

But, seriously the clitoris, vagina, labia, uterus, ovaries and breasts do atrophy with the loss of ovarian estradiol. So supplementation with E is the only way to get the girl to re emerge. lol Really. Regards, JZZ

I was so mad that no one every told me what happens with Peri and Meno that I demanded that my uro-gyn MEASURE my girlie parts at my last visit. Regular gyns don't really "measure" but uro-gyn's do. lol But, he did hand me a mirror while he pointed out various things while using a q-tip. I am having my bloods tested tomorrow....{day 3 } LH & FSH levels
Is the LH to test my progesterone? When I had my Mirena fitted a few years ago,a nurse said I wasnt producing enough progesterone {hence the heavy periods}
the Mirena fell out last November and I,ve had a terrible time,new symptoms daily....
would if the FSH level is normal but the LH low?

I really dont want to battle on....will I be offered some form of treatment?
if not,what herbal remedies can anyone recommend for the following.....; total loss of sex drive,weepiness,irritability,sore breasts,weakness,tiredness...
I am tempted to take AD's but have used St Johns Wort before and found it helped,though this is definitely more than a bout of mild depression.....this MUST be the peri and its just bloody horrible

Along these same lines and just after my first experience with dryness, I noticed today when applying Replens that my left inner lip is sooooooooooooo much shorter than the right one. How depressing.

AND I don't think I can do hormone treatments to restore anything because I have so much cancer history on both sides of the family.

And there is noone in my life, nor do I have any sex drive at the moment.
Is this the end? God how depressing this all is.
