I hear you Hon, I'm in the same boat. Had palps and fatigue and then a strange angina like a burning across my chest when I did anything out of the ordinary in the way of walking fast or up a hill. I have a blockage behind my heart and my arteries to my neck are blocking. Their just treating me at the moment with lots of drugs and trying to stop the progression. Your actually lucky that they found yours before a major stroke or heart attack, we are the lucky 30 percent that found out before we stroked or died. You'll be all the better for finding out. Please let me know how you make out and how your feeling OK??? Hugs Jill

gyz,

I am so glad you went to the hospital! And most importantly that you DIDNT listen to US!! That is what is so scarey. Most of us are so quick to give advice. The problem is that many meno sypmtoms mimick much more serious problems. I believe WE are the best judge of how we really feel and we have to DEMAND answers from the experts!

I am so glad you now know why you have felt so horrid and most of all, I hope you are very well taken care of and that you feel better very soon!

Many hugs,

bev

when you are up to it, post your symtoms so if any one else has the same they wont think its peri or all in there head, or meno- people are so fast to put there 2 cents in- you always need to elimanate the worse first....

You never know, do you? We always think it's our anxiety but it also pays to have a good check-up and an EKG sometimes! Glad you're having the heart problem taken care of and I pray you feel better very soon! smile.gif

I can't tell you how many times I've seen on this site "It's probably nothing, but it's best to get it checked out if it's worrying you." That way, if it's nothing you'll feel better (except that I always assume they missed something...d*mn this health anxiety) and if it turns out to be something serious, you may have caught it early. Yes, a lot of this crazy stuff is peri related but it's always good to know for sure. Get well soon.

Dear Gyzwyf83,
I wish you speedy recovery and glad you had help when you needed it, we all have all kind of feelings, cheat pain, heart palps, etc. but it is hard to figure out unless one has angiogram.
It is shows how menopause can mask serious conditions and how we should get everything checked.
Best wishes,
I.

Wow, I can imagine you are feeling scared and overwhelmed, who wouldn't! YIKES!! It does go to show nobody should take heart issues lightly...never assume you are having harmless palps unless you get them checked first. So glad to caught it early.

Get well soon and keep us informed about your progress.

hi ladies! just a very quick update for you... i've just returned home for a five day stay in the hospital on cardiac unit. from everything they told me, i actually did have a a heart attack. the artery on the back side of my heart was 98% blocked, with two others that were 60% block, although they will leave those alone for now.

please forgive me for not being able to fill you in on all the details completely, i'll try to do that in the next couple of days - everything has been such a blurr and has happened so quickly.

many, many thanks for all the concern, prayers and thoughts!

((((((((((gyz))))))))))))))) I'm sorry you are going through this. I'm very happy to read that you are getting the help you need. I must say that when I read some of the threads and posts here it kinda scares me. If someone is feeling anything with their heart like palps, chest pain, etc., I encourgae them to seek medical attention and have things checked out by a physician. I see to many people chalking everything up to peri or menopause. We are not doctors here and not everything is from menopause.

I look forward to you updates on things and I am keeping you in my prayers.

Here's to a speedy recovery.

Hugs again,
Karen

Oh my, I'm so sorry. I don't know how I missed this thread. Of course you were/are scared. I'm so glad you are home now. I hope and pray that your recovery is quick and complete and there won't be any need for more stints. I'm grateful too that medical science has allowed to find a way to repair blockages. It truly is amazing.

Hey gyz:

I realize I'm bit late to this post - but I am curious - what made you go to the hospital to have an angiogram - and how long did you stay there -

Hope you are feeling much better
