Anybody out there know about adrenal fatigue? I was reading a two year old post earlier about adrenal fatigue and was wondering if some of those folks are still around and could offer some advice. My "peri" symptoms (cold intolerance, shaking, anxiety, terrible fatigue, depression, crawly skin, palpitations) started after a VERY busy holiday/soccer season. I've read about Addison's disease because some of the symptoms seemed to be what was happening to me. My doctor, of course, blew it off, saying my electrolytes were normal so it couldn't be adrenal problems. One thing I noticed in the article on the site is that postural hypotension (bp drop after standing) is one of the signs of adrenal fatigue.

I know this post doesn't make much sense, but I'd really like to hear from anyone who has been diagnosed with adrenal fatigue to see if the bp problems and anxiety could be related to this.

Thanks

There's a huge AF thread on An Open Menopause Journal.

I was dx'ed w/ AF a few weeks ago. I have low BP & the postural hypotension. My basal body temp is very low. I also was dx'ed the same time w/ hypo thyroidism (which I have been on synthetic thyroid meds for a long time and they don't seem to be working) and Type II diabetes.

There is a huge thread started by MarieR......I too have adrenal issues, have low basal temp and get lightheaded on standing and low BP...did not know it was called postural hypotension though!!

I have never had my thyroid checked, but I do know that when the adrenals are out of whack that that can show up in the thyroid, but does not neccesarily mean you have a serious thyroid issue?......anyway.....check out the thread by MarieR....I know she is currently visiting the boards so ask her anything, she will gladly reply and advise.

I am taking an adrenal booster called 'Adreno Distress Guard' by Perque...as given to me by my alternative med Dr....my cortisol levels are in the very upper end of the range as opposed to the low end....I am trying to get it down to the 3/4 mark....I am under a fair amount of stress and anxiety from various outlets right now, so its not helping my recovery...which has been going on for about 4 years now!!!

Please get a saliva test done for the adrenals to see where they are at...it will help you see your exact situation and remedy it...there is also a good book called 'Adrenal fatigue the 21st century stress syndrome' by Dr James L Wilson.

Thanks for the advice. I think I started reading the thread on Adrenal fatigue but my brain is so fuzzy with the depression and anxiety right now, I just couldn't muddle through. Maybe I can try again today.

My doctor has been EXTREMELY unhelpful in doing medical workup to help me through this. She thinks it's all psych. She did check my thyroid, including antibiodies at my request, and it all came back fine. But I have been having really wacky blood pressures at home. Then, of course, I get to the doctor's office, and my bp is normal.
