This forum has been a godsend. I have horrible chills at night sometimes with shivering and teeth chattering, etc. and I live in the desert! It is a very strange phenomenon that has been more of an issue for me than night sweats. I'm 46 and have been having perimenopausal symptoms for about a year. The horrific periods finally convinced me to start on HRT, but since I started, during the estrogen portion I have more trouble with night sweats than I ever did prior to starting HRT. Does anyone know if this is normal? I've only been on it for about a week and need to do something to control the heavy bleeding and horrible cramping during my (every other week) periods so that I can travel for work.

I am not sure it is normal but my hot flashes got worse when I started my HRT. I am supposed to see my doctor next Tuesday and I plan to ask for another remedy for hot flashes. I do take black cohosh because I heard it helped, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I also get the cold chills every day not even night just all the time out of the blue. One minute I am hot as can be and the next I am cold and wanting to jump in my bathtub to warm up and I live in houston where the average these days is 99F.
