ok, today when i was waking up, laying on my back, (BEFORE i even moved at all) my heart started to "flutter".... it only lasted about 5 or 6 seconds or so ... but, it was scary! I was just laying, waking up, opening my eyes.....and POW here it came! I felt it FLUTTER, it sort of sped up, and beat so fast that it fluttered .... i wouldn't say it "vibrated" because that would be considered internal vibrating or shaking...that wasn't it......yet, in a way, you COULD say it "vibrated" I guess....but it was more of a FLUTTER....fast! I just laid there, petrified.......i've had so many diff. heart symptoms over the past few years...it's beat fast, SLOW, (to where you almost don't think it's even beating), it's skipped beats, i've had that "third beat" thingy, all sorts of feelings in there........but this was new. This was a FLUTTER, and it was fast .... i didn't feel lightheaded at the time, as if oxygen wasn't getting to the brain, I didn't feel nauseas at the time, (i did feel slightly nauseas later, which i think was due to fear).....just the very fast flutter. I know peri does this sort of thing, but, i would like to know,,if anyone else has had THIS type of FLUTTERING......right now, it's about 6 days after my period ended, and i'm ovulating, maybe that has something to do with it, i dont know.....

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS? wink.gif

I used to have this from the time of ovulation until I got my period. Turns out I had GERD, which will trigger heart fluttering/palps, and lying down seemed to trigger it. I figured it was due to my low E and the high P that happens from ovulation until the onset of a period.

Aside from GERD, heart palps/fluttering can be cause by dehydration or often low estrogen. Now that I take E I rarely have them unless I don't drink at least 8-10 glasses of water/day.

I was also getting them after eating, and my doc told me it was mild acid reflux. The other possibility is hiatal hernia, which can raise all sorts of havoc.

I hate it when I am driving. I always feel like I am gonna go off the road they freak me out so bad.

I get 'em, too...for many years now. Hate 'em...

And I agree, the ones while driving are the pits.

(Gaviscon helps if they are reflux related--I always
keep that handy) (Also, I noticed that on the rare
occasion when I indulge in a "mall soft pretze,l"
I will most assuredly get those flutters before long.
I'm thinkin it has something to do with the amount
of salt?)

*it's always somethin, right?*

I also get these flutters. Mine can come at any time. Sometimes they make me nervous, other times I just ignore them. If I forget and they come catching me off guard, I get frustrated and angry. dry.gif

Originally, when they started, they would really scare me, and I would rush to the emergency room. After about three emergency room visits, and a prescription of Lorazepam (which I don't take), prayer, and Power Surge, I calmed down. Yet, I still wish they would completely go away! mad.gif

Before, during, and after my cycle, they can really come; especially before. Also, after a meal, and at bedtime, it can hit. Sometimes, if I get a good burp, it can help them calm down. I've been reading about the 8 to 10 glasses of water helping, also exercise can be a benefit as well. I've got the exercise, but I need to increase the water a bit. smile.gif

I have just started to get these too, right before this last period. It scared me at first, then I tried to talk to myself calmly, trying to reassure myself that this will pass, took some deep breaths, cold glass of water. They went very quickly.

Wouldn't like to get them while driving though that must be even more scary ohmy.gif
