H everyone

Woke up today with a feeling I had something stuck in my throat. My throats not sore or anything but when I swallow i can feel something there.
I have googled and the only thing I can find is gerd? However I don't have any of the other symptons of Gerd just this feeling somethings stuck.
I have just had results of a thyroid test and all was 'normal'. So just wondering if anyone else can shed any light on this strange feeling. Thank you all so much.

It can be "globus hystericus" as they call the "something got stuck in my throat" feeling, this comes from anxiety or GERD.
I used to get it for few years, now it is pretty much history, it can be due to esophageal muscle spasm, either acid triggered or hormonal.

I get this symptom a couple of weeks a year. After many tests for thyroid and gerd,(including having a probe stuck down my throat for 24 hours) the ENT finally decided it was connected to allergies. After three years he saw a pattern, it always happened at the beginning of my allergy season. Can't do anything about it but at least I know my throat isn't closing up on me.

I get something similar. It's like something is swollen in my throat and I only notice it when I swallow. It's random, no pattern to it's occurrence. I have had GERD in the past, and I do have thyroid problems, so who knows what the heck is causing it.

Stress and anxiety does this to me. It's scary.

Sometimes it feels like a lump, other times it feels like my throat is tight.

I hate it!!!

I must admit last night I was a bit concerned going to sleep, that this 'thing' in my throat would get bigger and I would choke to death!!

I'm still here! You have all helped me so much to realise that this can and does happen sometimes, and I'm not going completely crazy ..... just yet.

did you ever hear some where say - oh i got a lump in my throat !! its due to anxiety......

I have had this too, and it is anxiety for me. The more I think about the it more difficult it is to swallow. It is annoying, but getting busy helps to stop thinking and then swallowing feels better.

this is a common complaint here ,, Our hormones affect smooth muscle tissue ,, remember when we got our hormones. . our voices changed just like little boys did .. they get deeper .. now were going backwards and going to get those little old lady voices .. grrrreeaaaatt ..
