Some say it's low oestrogen and some say it excess progesterone.....anyone know for sure?

These are my symptoms ---

skipping a period every month. but when I do see a period I bleed and flood excessively..
Apathy
anxiety
no motivation
depression ( as in a horrible sense of doom - a cloud hanging over me)
sometimes visual problems
aches and pains ( come and go) especially in my feet.
Unsettled sleep....
always worrying about something
fatigue

fed up of feeling like this....

Fed up also Evening Primrose,

Just the pits isn,t it?

Have just been looking back at old posts and I see you have been a member here for quite a while? Has it been continually bad for you or have you had lengthy feel good times??
I pray you say the latter, because I cannot bare the thought of this for months never mind years!!

I seem to have every ailment going at the moment,it,s so hard to pick yourself up isn,t it when you feel so terrible.

As to which hormone is responsible I,m clueless, I just think if we are fluctuating so much daily/hourly how is it possible to use anything succesfully.

I also don,t know about you.But when I,m down query how can hormones cause so much destruction mental and physical, when Dr,s tell you it isn,t hormones either!

Then anxiety creeps in,or is it there already who knows I certainly don,t.

Have you found a good Dr as I see you are from UK,think that must help.

I,m still looking

Hi Kath-

In my previosu post I meant to say I am skipping a period every other month.

I've been a member here since 2003 and I've had good and lengthy times ( 7 or 8 months) and then it all kicked off again....-- but things have become increasingly worse last two years -- I am having a horrible time with this, I really am. I must be one of those women who really need hormones but I'm still classed as being in the peri/menopause stages so not sure if they will help ... sad.gif

Usually I do well when I dont see a period but since the last one, which was 8 weeks ago I think, I dont feel like I am picking up. I dont think lack of sleep is helping either....

In a few weeks, I have an appointment with a therapist who speciaises in Reverse Therapy. He has been recommended by one of the girls here. Her symptoms were very similiar to mine and she is now doing really well. I hope he can help me too -- unsure.gif He is based in the Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield area... is that close to you?

((hugs)) Kath -- I know how you feel...... There is no way thsat we can tell how long our symptoms will last.... Each woman is different, but I hope for you that you will get better quite soon smile.gif

Thanks for responding -

Reverse therapy?? What does that entail?

Crikey you have been on this road along time haven,t you? Sounds with you missing you could be nearing the end with it all? I,m still regular albeit different every month.

My last Dr informed me my bloods showed I was no where near peri never mind full menopause, which just freaks me out.

I truly hope you get some relief with this therapy. No it isn,t near me could look into one nearer to me if there are any,it,s hard tracking Dr,s like that down and as you a good recommendation is usually the best option.

I,m curious to what this is, I prefer alternative things where possible, I,m trying to go cold turkey, but who knows I don,t like the idea of unessesary suffering either.
