I' didn't know where to post this so i decided to post it here since it really isn't a menopause thing or is it? Is there any one out there who has focal seizures or know someone who does? My 23 yr. old son been having these weird attacks that last about 20 seconds but i seen him have one and it scared me. He like is standing and then he bends over for a bit says he having one and when he done his face is red and his eyes dialated. These happen a couple times a day at first i thought maybe he was having an anxiety or panic attack. He does say he gets this weird depression before one hits. The other night he went to Er cause he was having some chest pain and neck pain which ended up being something like chrondidtis i don't know how to spell it and he then had an attack in front of doctor and nurse. They wrote on his paperwork possible seizure. So i really would appreciate some input on seizures if anyone knows. Thanks alot Terry

Terry, Does your son have a primary care Dr? He may need to be checked by a Neuroogist.
Was he subjected to any toxic fumes or anything!? This could be what's called a Petite Mal Seizure.
Fancy French meaning a smaller one where you kinda stare, instead of Grand Mal which is the kind with convulsions.

I'm SO sorry!!!!!!!!!!! ((((((( HUGS )))))))))) to you both.
I would get him to a regular Dr, and ask about an EEG test ( electroencephelogram) for brain waves and seizures.
The Neurologist does these. They don't hurt ( the test) I had one when I had a big seizure right before my first period from Estrogen.
They could be chemicals or preservatives, or maybe mild epilepsy
or narcolepsy ( falling asleep sorta) but all these can be treated with meds......
or in VERY VERY rare cases in could be something else, but no need to worry until you see the Dr.
Love ya lots, please call your Dr. k?

Hi Mb thanks for you support. My son does have a gp and he is planning on making another appt. with him to discuss this problem. He does work at Walmart under florescent lighting for 8 hrs. and i do know the lights affect me bad. But i am coming to conclusion it possibly can be partial seizures. Thanks again Terry

Terry - did they say
Costal Chronditis, which is an inflammation of the cartilage that connects the Sternum (breastbone) to your ribs.
It's very painful and he really needs to be followed up - maybe the seizures are not enough Oxygen.

I am not a Dr, just have several genetic disorders so I see a lot of them. and worked for both a major hospital and a medical Review board.
I hope he is ok, and you take good care, I will check in. Whatever it is, the Doc should see him to find out what this is....
Write down all his symptoms and when they started and how often and all that - in case they ask you weird questions - Neurologists ask weird questions.
It's their job.

Love, praters and hugs,
