As desparation set in.... And the realization that I am truly obese now... (BMI 35!) I have joined Weight Watchers to rescue me!! I didn't think I'd like the points, but they are easy and kind of fun!! Anyone thinking about joining DO IT with me. I'd appreciate hearing PS Sisters' successes and challenges. My first thing I noticed was wow, I was over eating before I stared! And was still hungry!! And exercise made me hungrier... Now, once following the plan, I noticed the past few days, I'm feeling quite satisfied... and not hungry at all! A miracle! The ravanous sugar monster might be dead...

I have been on WW since October and have lost just under 30 lbs. I am one of those that have tried just doing it myself, would loose 5 lbs and gain it back plus some. So finally I made up my mind I needed help. I joined the online version only. I live in a rural area so no meeting around me but I love the online version. I started out with a BMI of 34. I am now 26. Just over my normal range I have about 5-8 more lbs to go. It is a slow process but this is the first time I am keeping it off. I also like that I choose the food and just add up the points. The diets that make you buy their own food would not work for me. My DH even likes the meals I make from WW receipts. One thing is you really have to watch the processed food. It was so easy for me in the past to just stop and get something on my way home if my DH was working evening shift. Now I have to force myself to eat heathier. It takes longer and is more effort but I have not weighed what I do now since I was in my late 20's and being in my mid 50's that is quite an accomplishment. Oh and you know what else helped???? I have not had a period since last November either and not having the PMS, heavy bleeding etc really helped me get my exercise program into gear.

I tried it last year, didn't work for me as I only lost less than 10 pounds and needed to lose around 75 -- I hope it works for you =)

I was using the WW program quite successfully, lost 16 pounds! Then I got the flu! Well I stopped caring about being particular, and ate what I wanted cuz I felt so lousy and was so exhausted. That finally went away, and I ended up getting a migraine headache a day for over a week! Well I couldn't stick to the plan during THAT either!! So I had stopped exercising and had stopped following the plan! URGGGGGGGGGGGG!

So tomorrow I am starting AGAIN! From scratch! I don't think I regained the entire 16 pounds, but I have definitely put some of it back on. I will face the dreaded scale in the morning!! YIKES!! EEEK!! ohmy.gif

Time to get back on the train!! CCathy, I would love to share experiences, ideas, suggestions, recipes, successes, setbacks (we NEVER call it failure!!) with you if you wish. I have suffered a setback for sure...but there were reasons for it, so I will forgive myself and just move on.

You are supposed to set small goals on WW, not big ones....so I think my first goal will be to lose a measly 10 pounds!!

biggrin.gif Thanks everyone!! Tomorrow is my first week's weigh in - so I'm particularly nervous. But I think this first week was a success!! I love the on line tools. Best wishes to all for successes this coming week - let's keep in touch!!

Hey Cath,

I did my weigh-in on Friday and had only gained 3 pounds!! I was thrilled!! I was terrified it was going to be more like 10! Woohoo!!

I have been back on the plan now for 3 days and doing well. I looked at joining the online WW, but in Canada it would cost me $85 to join.....ok so call me cheap, but in the US it is only $55!!! The monthy cost after that is $22 here, compared to $17 in the US. I should look up a false US address and pretend I am American!! LOL!!!

So tell me some of the things you are learning from the online program? I would be very interested in how you figure out your Activity Points. I have no info on that at all.

Good luck tomorrow, I bet you do GREAT!!!

How is the plan going this week??

My weigh in was today, I am down 3.5 pounds.....very happy with that as I have lost the weight I had regained, and another half a pound to boot! YAY!!! It does help your motivation when you see some success on the scale!

So please, check in!!

I'm a lifetimer myself. It's a great program. Wonderful. I still continute to write down what i eat and more or less count points. I did gain my weight back and went back to the meetings for a year but couldn't lose ... not sure why it worked the first time and not this time uless it's due to my hormones. Still.. I think it taught me a lot and I'd love for them to teach this in school.

Good luck!

Hi!! I agree, it's an amazing program. I'm really pleased this time around. The e-tools are even more incredible. I'm doin' the in-person meetings and I highly recommend the "Monthly Pass" that comes with the e-tools. The website is amazing! The recipies, the helpful tips... The stories! The support blogs! There are even exercise videos to follow!!! Amazing.

I'm doing well - Week 2. I learned a piece of Baklava today was a boo-boo (4 pts). What I should have done was only eat 1/2!! And eat the other 1/2 another day. I sure did enjoy it though!!! Just had to adjust my dinner plan appropriately.
