Ladies do any of u know what causes the muscle pain(back ache) I've had it for months now..is it lack of E or P or both? My Gyno says i'm low normal on E,been taking Bio e in the morning and P at night..nothing seems to be working, does it just take awhile? I'm so crazy from all of this, I had an ovary remove last yr that had scar tissue on it, and a partial histerectomy at 38 (Ovaries and cervix were left) Is it safe to say I'm probably going into menopause very soon? I just turned 47,anyone else experience all these back aches, also have dizziness, slight headaches etc.etc Please anyone w/ any expertise let me know your thoughts!

Hi there - What type of bio E and how much are you taking? How long have you been taking it? I didn't have any luck with the bios that I tried. Used the Vivelle Dot .1 patch for 2.5 months and my estrogen level still remained at less than 20. I then tried sublingual estradiol (3.75 mg/day) for 6 weeks, that only brought my level up to 30. I guess my skin doesn't absorb very well. After being really frustrated, I switched to Premarin which I think is starting to work.

Hi,

You did not say where your back pain is. Upper back? Lower back? One side? For the longest time I had low back pain which came around my right side, almost across the top of my hip. At one point it was so bad I developed panic attacks associated with it. I went to my gyn and was checked to be sure it wasn't an ovarian cyst - it wasn't. What worked for me was work with a massage therapist who specialized in trigger points. It took about four sessions, but my pain was alleviated completely. The culprits were my quadratus laborum (sp?) and psoas muscles. Apparently both muscles (particularly the psoas if you have had abdominal surgery) tend to act up in women. It's worth checking out.

Best of luck!
