AreWeThereYet?
I was wondering if anyone has ever had this...I am finding when I "walk" as in walking the dog, at times when I am walking I start to notice a burning back there. When I get home I wipe and there is pink on the TP.

It's been going on for about 1 yr and it has happened at other times besides when I walk but it is more common when I walk. It happens about4-5 times a month.

I have not had kids, I am a vegan so I have soft stools all the time but this is making me nervous. I don't have health insurance so I can't just go to the Dr and go through a ton of tests. I was just wondering if anyone has had this?

nc53215
my guess would be hemorrhoids
EveningPrimrose
I would really try to get to see a doctor about this - it's probably nothing to worry about, but any bleeding from the back passage needs evaluation.
AreWeThereYet?
That is what I am thinking but there is nothing going on down there that I can find. (Sorry) It isn't alot, it's just the one wipe and it is gone. It has me so puzzled. I know if I go to a Dr they will want to do Colonoscopy etc and since I have no insurance, I really can't afford it.

Your Skunk is so cute! LOL

UGH, I know what you are saying, but I am barely hanging onto my house and I am behind on that and I have called and the Dr's are $250+ and then tests. I just can't do that. sad.gif
EveningPrimrose
Isn't there a walk in clinic where you dont have to pay? Maybe they can give you an internal to see if they can feel anything? That would be a start....I'm sorry, I am from the UK - our health care system is different here -- I wish I could help you.... I hope some of the US girls come along to give you advice. I just think health is a priority and you should be seen --- sad.gif
Jonesy
My guess is that this is some sort of irritation, because it only happens when you walking. A chaffing perhaps from a ficher- or a tear. But you must have someone take a look. You could save your own life- which is worth it at any cost. It could be so simple-- just one peek, the dr. will see what is up and your mind will be at rest. Don't wait.
didgens
Please dont think about health insurance .. really .. go to the doctor .. may be hemroids (misspelled im sure) but get it checked out .. see if there are "free clincs " around ?
dcamp
Hi AreWe,

It is probably something simple----someone posted about a possible fissure or irritation. Go get it checked out to put your mind at ease. Lack of insurance shouldn't have to stop you. That's what free clinics are for. Here in Cleveland, there is an entire hospital that will care for anyone regardless of financial situation. That's the great thing about living in the USA---no one, NO ONE needs to go without medical attention based on economic capabilities.

I wish that was a true statement....where i live,if you don't have insurance, you're just **** out of luck....my son went to urgent care last month and was turned away....no free clinics close by....no place will see him without insurace or cash up front...his only option is the emergency room at the hospital....and it has to be a true emergency....then a bill owed for thousands and thousands of dollars.... mad.gif

Are 46 Million Really Without Health Insurance In America? Yes & No.

[color="#000000"]

It is one of the most widely quoted stats in the media today: ‘46 million in America are without health insurance.’ Is it true?

Yes. The latest numbers have just about 45.7 million people in America lacking health insurance.

But there are some important details missing in this rather startling figure.

An interesting article in American Spectator breaks down the health insurance numbers. That article, along with some research in CBO, Census bureau and private studies, paints some interesting points in the health insurance debate.

Here are a few:

1. There is a difference between health care and health insurance. Everyone has access to health care. They may not have health insurance, but the law mandates everyone who shows up at emergency rooms must be treated, insurance or not.

2. 46 million in America lack health insurance. The “in America” reference, as opposed to writing “46 million Americans,” is an important point because of those 46 million without insurance, an estimated 10 million or so are non-U.S. citizens, most living in this country illegally.

3. Millions can apparently afford health insurance but for whatever reason choose to not buy it. In 2007, an estimated 17.6 million of the uninsured made more than $50,000 per year, and more than 9 million of those made more than $75,000. According to researcher and author Sally Pipes, 38 percent of the U.S. uninsured population earn more than $50,000 per year.

3. Young workers often just don’t think about health insurance. The Census figures show that 18.3 million of the uninsured were under 34 who may simply not think about the need for insurance.

4. Government health insurance programs currently exist that aren’t being used. A 2003 Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association study estimated that about 14 million of the uninsured were eligible for Medicaid and SCHIP and would be signed up automatically if they went to the hospital.

5. Many children who should be insured aren’t. This study by Georgetown University’s Health Policy Institute shows that 7 out of every 10 kids who lacks insurance could get it if their parents simply enrolled in current government programs.

6. Millions lose health insurance only temporarily through the year. The CBO has estimated that millions who fall into the uninsured category are those who have lost or left jobs and they will regain insurance once they return to work.

According to the American Spectator article citing this Blue Cross study, the 46 million figure should actually be closer to about 8 million truly uninsured. Too many are simply non-US citizens, not paying for insurance because they choose not to or feel too young to need it, or simply are not signing up for programs for which they are eligble.

With the price of health care rising faster than nearly every other form of inflation, it is clear something needs to change. And even one American without health insurance is one too many. But health care is also an incredibly important part of our economy, accounting for 1 out of every 10 American jobs. And we are discussing major changes that could have wide-ranging impact. How much change is yet to be determined, but as Congress and the White House begin their discussion and debate over what could be legislation that costs more than $1 trillion dollars, it’s important to be aware of the real story of health care coverage.

I've called around and I can't get anyone to let me see them. They want a credit card and I don' t have one.

I don't know who to go to. sad.gif Since it has been happening for a year, wouldn't I be dead if it was cancer?

How utterly pathetic that you, with a very concerning symptom, are asked for a credit card first....and the insurance companies are going to fight Obama's attempt to nationalize our health care why? Because it's a monumental money maker for them, sick patient, be damned!!!!

Ok, now I have that off my chest, walk into an emergency room and tell them what you're experiencing and see if they can give you any help.....sounds like an external problem as mentioned in other posts but worrying about it is doing you no good either....good luck

Is it bright red blood or brown? Bright red usually indicate it’s skin related and dark it has come from deep inside and may be more serious? But I’m no doctor!!!!!

Don’t think you can be turn down at the ER????

Even though it not a real medical emergency it’s better than some reasons I have heard at the ER> tooth aches- sprinters. there's something in my eye????

Most were Latinos without health insurance! They show up for every little thing! They get FREE medical treatment so don't feel bad!

This really disturbs me. Everyone in the UK has access to our health care facilities. People who enter this country and do not have British nationality are STILL entitled to health care. Do you have medicaid or whatever it is? Sorry, I am not aufait with the American health care system but I think it's really sad that profit appears to be more important than someones wellbeing.
EveningPrimrose
No, it could be something as simple as a small hemmorroid (damn, could never spell that word rolleyes.gif ) or a polyp -- but if it's still causing you problems after a year and you haven't had it checked out, then I think it's time you did! smile.gif

The blood is pinkish and there is always 1 spot the size of a nickle. It is never brown or bright red. I will keep trying to find someone to see me but who knows. To complicate matters I don't have my drivers license. I got my purse stolen when I moved to a new state so now I have to re-test. I can't re-test now because I need glasses and I can't pass t he eye exam of the driving license without glasses. So I don't even have an ID. Even if I came up with the $$ they are going to want an ID...it's l ike a vicious circle sad.gif

AreWe,

I don't know what it's like in your state, but here in Ohio, people who don't drive but need ID can't obtain a State ID. I am so sorry you are going through all of this. Get the State ID if you can and go to an ER. By law they cannot refuse care. It is probably something very simple to take care of and you will be able to rest much easier.

Take care,
Donna

You are absolutely right about the insurance companies fighting the attempt to nationalize health care because it will put them out of business.

However, as much as we do need reform, nationalized health care is not the answer as is evident in Great Britain and Canada. Just ask yourself if we want the government running our health care program in light of the way they have run our social security system (which your children are paying into and will never see a penny of)? How about the government run Post Office which is billions of dollars in debt every year? Yet the privately run UPS is one of the most profitable companies in the United States. Would you trust your own health care or the care of your loved ones in the hands of the government which has run the SS and Post Office into the ground? I would not. There has to be a better way.
AreWeThereYet?
I'm with DCamp! No way do I want the Gov't running the health care in this country. Look at the mess they have made with SS,etc. Think of those evil DMV women and nasty postal clerks being the ones you have to deal with to get health care! No thanks.

They are going to ration it and if you are over a certain age, forget it. We are all headed into the "too old" for treatment zone so no one should be happy about this. As a matter of fact, here I am without insurance and I have already called my Senator and my Congressmen.

Me and my bloody bucket will get to a Dr some how, but I don't want the gov't up my A%^ more then they already are! No pun intended. biggrin.gif
momzoffour
I agree with the govt running most services into the ground but with the cost of private ins going up and up and more and more people losing it all together, we're running out of options in this country...

Hearing stories that people are turned away due to lack of insurance flies in the face of the Hippocratic Oath and is a societal travesty IMO.....

Something HAS to change...

As for the govt running our services down the drain already, THAT is a debate I won't even touch with a ten-thousand foot pole LOL biggrin.gif The opening of Pandora's Box was easier!!!!

Agreed! Something definitely has to change, just not to nationalization.

As far as the government running our services down the drain---there really isn't anything to debate about. It's just a pure and simple fact. Maybe Pandora has some answers in her box laugh.gif

Are We......

You really do need to get checked. Is there an neighboring state that might help you?
If it were me, I'd go to an ER when is bloody and you can show it. If they say now, is there anyone at all who could take you to a state run clinic
or Social Services. Maybe they can help with funds for a new license. Heck, maybe some people here could chip in $5 each and we could find a way.
Then you could perhaps get to a neighboring state. There are places where the unemployed can get care.
It is state by state. I'm sorry to ramble, but I think you should not let this go.......and we don't want to see bad things happen to you.

It probably is something like a polyp or Hemorhoid (sp>)
I hope you are ok....and trying to find some help with the glasses and things.
Life is a storm out there, I know.

We are with you in Support,

I agree that it should be checked, but in my case it turned out to be the brand of "moist" wipes I was using. Apparently, I was allergic or sensitive to something in them. Once I switched to a new brand, no more irritated/bleeding bottom. I also opted for a different, softer toilet tissue. (Plus, I added a fiber supplement to my diet & am drinking more water) It's made all the difference!

Good luck to you!

Thanks for everyone's concern and advice. I am going to find things to sell on craigslist and get the money to get to a Dr. I think I will find moreluck going to a Dr. then to a urgicare clinc. Everytime I called a clinc there was some nasty lady answering the phone and said they couldn't help.

I will work on getting some extra money and I will come back and post the Bloody Bucket's status.

A good friend of mine is in the Medical field .. I talked to her about this last night ,, she said if you go to the emergency room of any hospital they have to take you ,, just make sure you let them know your bleeding and need attention ,, she said it is illegal to turn anyone away from an er. and that is what she would do.

I'm in agreement with going to the Emergency Room...you need to be looked at to see what's going on. Do it after you walk.

Aww thanks to everyone for all your care and concern. No one has to take up collections for me But I appreciate that. I am not gushing blood. If I was I would run to the ER and throw myself on the floor and be dramatic LOL I know it is not good, but this just a little pink spot on the TP about 4-5 times a month. It is the size of a nickle and one wipe and it is gone. Last month it didn't happen at all.

While it still is not good, I don't want to run up ER bills when I could just save up and go to the Dr and have him poke around back there. (UGH, I don't even want to think of that LOL) Anyway, now that I know that no one else has a bloody bucket, I will get on this and get into a Dr.

I was planning a garage sale. I'll do that and then can get some $$$ to get in there smile.gif

I promise me and my bloody bucket will come back and post what they found.

You are all so amazing:)

Wow.
I am sorry to hear that you are having such trouble with this, and that you are having such trouble getting seen for treatment. I'm Canadian and have never, ever had this kind of issue.
When you have a medical problem you have the choice of either going to a walk in clinic if it's after hours, your own GP or if necessary, the ER. You are never turned away and there is no $$$$ for services.
It so upsetting to read this.

Hi Manyboys,

Here in the US we can also go to an ER for treatment and there is no charge if uninsured ( in fact it is illegal to refuse anyone treatment in an ER) I posted a rather lengthy explanation concerning this matter earlier on in this topic.

Not sure about that AWTY. Maybe they determine your ability to pay by your financial status---maybe they make arrangements for a monthly payment option.....maybe they don't charge at all if one is completely incapable. All of this is speculation because I am not sure. I do know that my cousin who hasn't got 2 nicklels to rub together had a mastectomy, follow up chemo and radiation and follow up care for the rest of her life and it didn't cost her a cent. She is also uninsured. Whatever the case may be, your health is of utmost importance and if you find yourself having to make some restitution in the form of monthly payments it would be worth it to me to tighten my belt a little in exchange for my health.

Take care,
Donna

in my town, yes you most definitely get a bill,a very huge one as a matter of fact, whether you have any money or not....and then they give you just a short amount to pay it or you're turned over to a collection agency, taken to court and your wages are garnished(if you're working)...if you're not working, your wages will be garnished when you do ever start working....

You know----I think situations differ. If you read my post about my cousin you can see that she paid not one red cent and she received excellent care and will continue to do so as long as she lives (no bill involved).

There was a time when my husband was out of work and one of our children needed medical attention. We couldn't pay the entire bill upfront, but were able to work out a payment plan. I have no problem paying what I am able. The world doesn't owe me a living has always been my philosophy. I am not saying that we don't need some reform with our health care here in the US. But I stand firm to my conviction that nationalization is not the answer.

God Bless America. Have a happy 4th.

That's exactly the point i was trying to make....your cousin is very lucky that she didn't have to pay a bill.I really think it's sad when people need healthcare and are refused treatment, like my son.He even told urgent care he would make payments, but that wasn't good enough, they wanted cash up front.I agree that we need health reform, but i have no clue what would be best....all i know is where i live(i always say where i live because i know every place is different)there are so many young adults without health insurance. They make too much money to be eligible for medicaid if they even work for minimum wage...yet the minimum wage jobs usually don't offer insurance..... they don't make enough money to buy insurace themselves therefore they're kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place. If these young adults have children, they can get medicaid, foodstamps and a monthly check so there are alot of them that have babies for that exact reason, and the more babies they have, the more benefits they get so you will see couples with lots of kids and i think it's sad.
