Hi t:

I suppose it is possible. I have bald spots that come and go due to Scleroderma but before that I had noticed my hair thinning and was finding it everywhere. I started peri at age 36 and am now 46. As far as the grey, yep I have a beautiful streak of grey in my hair - I have always blamed my kids tongue.gif but it is probably peri/meno!!!

Hugs to you,

I started getting grey at 16 and definitely was not in peri then! I do know hair loss is associated with peri, but I'm not sure about greying.

Dear 'nikki'
I do not think hair loss is necessarily due to Menopause but I am not a Doctor so cannot be a hundred percent sure. and it is quite possible that a lack of Estrogen may play a part.
It could possibly be related to a Thyroid problem which of course you would need to check out.
Also hair loss can be related to stress so calming exercises such as Yoga maybe helpful.
I really do feel for you and hope you find a solution to this problem.
We women always feel a lot better on 'good hair days'

What I am about to say next may cause me to receive a lot of hate mail!but am 59 and have no grey hairs. My hair was always a medium brown but I started to colour it a lighter blonde. When the roots grow out they are still brown!
Strange but true!

An Old Indian Receipe for restoring hair loss-and notice what luxuriant hair most Indians have-is to grind the pit of at least a dozen dates till they resemble coffee roughly ground. Then pour over small cup of boiling water.Stir well and let stand over night.Apply mix to areas of loss.
After about two months you should see some new hairs beginning to grow.Do not wash out the mixture but apply daily. It has a pleasant smell and is not sticky.Try to wash hair a little less infrequently.
Have personally witnessed good results on a friend of mine who had severe hair loss.

Sometimes these old Herbal solutions are amazingly effective!

All the Best

Good for you! No hate here. My kids gave me gray. I get my hair touch ups every 6 weeks and I love it cause you get the scalp massage with your shampoo. My hair is naturaly blond and sometimes I get copper tones in front. I was never upset when I started getting gray, it's just life.

I pulled my first grey hair out when I was 16!! By my mid twenties I had to stop pulling out the grey and start coloring it. I'm 43 now and when I get lazy and let it grow out a little too much I can see I still have some real color in my hair but I would guess I'm 3/4 grey. It didn't bother me at all in my twenties but I have to say it does bother me now.
