For financially reasons I switched gyns and went from Bi-eset to estrace.

The schedule the doc wants me on is to take the estrace on days 1-21. Prometrium on days 16-28. Prometrium is 200 mg.

Anyone else on a schedule like this?

I'm on Estrace but I take it all month long and although my doc wanted to put me on 100 mg Prometrium but I asked her to put me on vaginal prochieve instead. I take one (45mg) pump every other night for 6-14 days or 3-7 of the insert tubes. (It depends on how I'm tolerating it).

HTH... for what it's worth, I like the estrace much better than the compounds or estragel. Good luck!

Yes, Cathy I tried it last month. I was able to tolerate it really well but I think it's because my estrogen levels were up. I only did 4 tubes... (bad me) but it was enough to cause a bleed. I hadn't done that in 2 years and the surprising part was how gleeful I was about it. For the first time in two years, having my E up and taking the right dose of P along with T... everything worked. I felt womanly, I felt sexy, I felt great. It's like that first week before you get a period which was always my best week of the month. Now.. after 2 weeks have passed... it's not quite as good. Trouble is I don't know whether to up my E or lower it. My energy is in the toliet again, I feel irritable and icky. But I digress... the prochieve is very easy to use and you only use it every other night for a week. Plus it's cheap. I've forgotten now what I paid but when I priced it out it was cheaper than the Prometrium.

Thanks Carol - I decided after about a week of estrace that I am going back to bi-est. It's not in my budget right now but I don't like estrace. I think the dose is just too high for me. I have been breaking a 1 mg. dose in half and taking twice a day. I feel crampy, yesterday I had that excess estrgoen edginess (used some Progest and that mellowed me out) and I have had spotting for the whole week. I think I'm having is a stomach problem with it also, not quite a bloating but something.

I think I'm going back to bi-est in oral form. It's what I started out on about 5 or 6 years ago and like you posted in your second post, when I used it the biest in oral form made me feel womanly, alive etc. I have been using bi-est in troche form for the last year or so and other than making my face look fuller, it didn't really do much else.

I take Estrace 2 mg every day and on day 1-10 I am on 10 mg of Provera (to give me a period).

I might be different from ya'll cause I am 30 and had my ovaries removed last month. Because I still have my uterus I have to be forced to have a period. Oh JOY!
