I couldn't decide where to post this....under looking good or the Bio Board...
Has anyone being doing research on applying E or T to their face...and if so, what were the results?
Here is a little of what I have found...
Topical Estriol face cream (0.6% to 1.5%) is used to treat Hirsutism, excess facial hair around lip, jaw and neck in women.
~~~~ ....revealed significant, or even highly significant, decreases of wrinkle depth in the estradiol and the estriol groups.
Estrogens promote the growth of scalp hair, while they inhibit the growth of hair elsewhere on the body.
"Women often notice increased hair loss when there is a sudden drop in estrogens: post-partum, after stopping the Pill, and at the onset of menopause. It is estimated that a woman may lose as much as 20% of her hair at menopause. Both post-partum and menopausal hair loss, however, are not classified as androgenic alopecia, but as "endocrine alopecia," which should really be called "estrogen-withdrawal alopecia."
This is an interesting article...
A week cream of Progest seems to have benefits, too.
A study published in The British Journal of Dermatology in September 2005 seems to point in that direction. This 16-week study in 40 women, conducted by Dr. Holzer and colleagues, evaluated the effects of 2% progesterone cream on function and texture of the skin in women at or after menopause. The study design was robust: double-blind, placebo-controlled, and randomized. The results showed 23% increase in skin firmness, 29% reduction in wrinkle count near the eye and almost 10% reduction of the depth of laugh lines. No serious side-effects were observed.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....Where else should we put the stuff? LOL!
If any of you have tried this, I would love to hear the results.
