I'm 49 , perimenopausal for 10 years now (UGH).. This past year, after a lifetime of irregular periods (every 3 - 6 months was normal) I started getting my period every month, accompanied by severe headaches and migraines. Also bad PMS so I get about one good week a month if I'm lucky.

Two years ago I saw a doc ( I use that term loosely lol, she is being investigated and gave me NO follow up) who did the saliva test and suggested progesterone cream (OTC) I tried it and got HORRIBLE PMS that month - tears, sobbing, anxiety so bad my husband thought I was having a breakdown.

The doc would never return my phone calls and so I got no help from her. Needless to say I stopped the cream.

I now take Wellbutrin for depression, that's helped a lot. Was on Lexapro but weaned off it - too many drugs !

The migraines gor so bad and frequent that I started taking Immitrex when they come - helps but does not prevent them. Also get bad nausea and sound sensitivity.

My primary doc suggested low dose BC (Allesse) which I tried last month and got extreme irritability. Also although I took the pils continuously I bled anyway.
Have decided not to continue with those.

Just finished my period and have ordered Pro-Gest to try again. I have read many success stories of migrain help from the Pro-gest (also many horror stories) but I am desparate to feel better and get my life back without prescription drugs.

Advice, suggestions welcome. Thanks for being here and listening.
