Full Version: Antibiotics and Internal Shaking

questions
I posted to this forum about a year ago when I first experienced the internal shaking. I took magnesium, B vitamins, saw many doctors, and the shaking mysteriously went away as fast as it started. I can't attribute the recovery to anything specific, as I didn't keep a journal, and my blood tests and MRI were "fine." Recently, the same symptoms began again. Here's what I have found to be the common factors--both times I had a sinus infection and was given antibiotics that caused diarrhea (14 days) and yeast infections. Both times I had to take Diflucan after the antibiotics. Both times there were other external stressors in my life. I, too, am peri. Anyone have similar experiences or info. on whether antibiotics can cause the shaking in peri women? I know they wipe out all of the "good stuff" in your gut.

Yes, Yes, and Yes...

My last round of antibiotics sent me into meno hell so to speak, it made everything worse. It took a little while to figure it out. I am not saying that it was just the antibiotics, but yes they make your symptoms worse. I was on the ZPAC, and OMG, I had like 3 horrible panic attacks.

I would look into taking some supplements called ProBiotics, many different companies make them. What they do is basically this, when we take antibiotics they kill off ALL bacteria, both good and bad. I have learned, read, and come to realize, that this sends our systems out of wack. The Probiotics help establish the good bacteria back into your digestive system. I also took a Digestive Enzyme as well. You may tink what does digestions have to do w/peri symptoms, but honestly if our digestion is out of wack, when we cant process the nutrients that we need. And if I have learned anything thru this, we surely need nutrients....

Also try some hot herbal tea (I know I say this all the time folks, but OMG it does wonders... Look for Chamomile, or my favorite Valerian Root by Celestial Seasoning..)

One more thing. Do you drink coffee? Do you drink anything w/caffeine, if so cut back. I totally switched my coffee to Organic, and I don't get the rush feelings that I use to or the shakes. I had to totally give up Duncan Donuts coffee, OMG that put my system into over load...

But just so you are not alone. Me too, I went thru a great period or should I say a decent period of time, then took antibiotics, and it hell all over. This is not to say that it has to do w/getting closer to menopause, but I am convinced antibiotics played a role for me.
