This past week I stopped my morning dose of Estrogel because I was thinking that since I was taking it every day and not taking a weekly break after the Prometrium maybe that was why I wasn't getting a cycle and maybe I was too E dominant. I stopped it 5 days ago and since then I've been getting weird stomach cramps low down near my appendix (which is now gone BTW). At times the pain radiates into my upper thigh and then up into my left part of my stomach, but mostly it's in the lower area. It comes and goes but when it comes it's bad.
The only other change was my doctor added T3 to my thyroid regimen last week. It's was just 10mcg a day. He said the small dose shouldn't cause stomach pain but to stop it for a few days and see.
Now I took the last dose of T3 yesterday early am and it does wear off, and yet now one day later I woke up and was okay, then a few minutes later the pain is back. Then it goes.
Could this be a E withdrawal symptom for me since I've been using E every day for months and then I stopped. I start tomorrow again. This is the first time I've done this.
Anyone get weird stomach pains after stopping the E?

Are you still taking the P? Does it feel like it's in your ovaries? or is it up higher? If it's higher then I would think maybe the T3 but if it's lower, it could be the loss of estrogen.

Mostly it's in the lower right quadrant near where my ovary and appendix used to be, but then it goes up high too. it can be all over and it gets really bad then goes away and then comes back. it's weird. i did start my estrogel again today, but this is the first time I stopped it for a few days in about 10 months.
although i did have this pain on the cruise ship last sunday and I was still using the estrogel, so maybe not estrogel withdrawal??
the doctor said he didn't think the T3 would do this, but I've stopped it for a few days.
i'm wondering if it's a stomach bug from eating the food on the cruise? i don't have nausea or diarrhea or anything. the weird thing is I can be fine for a an hour or so and then real bad painful cramps, so bad one point i thought i should go the hospital

I know at the beginning of this while I was still getting regular periods and not taking any HRT, I would get some intermittant pains that felt as though my ovaries were being scraped, it was a very intense cramp that would make me catch my breath but it would only last a few moments then it would go away and it might be an hour or 3 days before it would happen again. This would go for about 3-10 days then it wouldn't happen again for another 2-3 month. This pain would occasionally travel up to underneath last rib cage but most often it was near my ovary.
From what I've read.. this type of pain wouldn't be typical of T3 drugs but then atypical things happen everyday, but even if it was it should level out once your body adjust to it. has your doc told you that you need to take a break from the T3? I read this (It is also important that Cytomel not be taken for more than six weeks. At least two months of abstinence from the drug needs to follow. Those who take high dosages of Cytomel over a long period of time are at risk of developing a chronic thyroid insufficiency. As a consequence, the athlete might be forced to take thyroid medication for the rest of his life. It is also important that the dosage is reduced slowly and evenly by taking fewer tablets and not be ended abruptly. ). This may only be important for those who are taking it for purposes other than reverse T3 as you are. But thought it might be something you would want to ask about.
Having just come off a cruise... I think I would do as you have done and go back to the estragel then wait another couple of weeks and see if it goes away. If so, then try going off the estragel again and see if you experience it again. Just from what I've read.. I think once you start taking the T3, you are going to start feeling better. I hope so. I'm going in for blood test the first of July and hoping by the middle of July my doctor will prescribe similar.

That is good information on the T3. I am on tiny doses 10mcg. On my other forums there are people on 75mcg and higher for long periods of time. Many of them said they only got better on the T3, especially if they had a Reverse T3 problem.
This morning I'm up with no pains. I had some cereal and I will see when it starts digesting if those pains come back. Last night they were really bad at bed time. I also used my estrogel again this morning. But I'm not using the T3 for a few days. The doctor said to stop and see and then start it again. I didn't have any nausea, diarrhea, or constipation; I'm still very regular, but those pains were bad and scaring me.
I really wanted to give the extra T3 a good try with my Armour too.
I'm off to a new hormone doctor that is in Pennsylvania. I have to find a better guy to handle my case. This one comes highly regarded, but he's not back in the office until the end of July.

I've had this for years! Final diagnosis after every test possible...IBS. Of course I think this is the catch-all for "we dont really know what it is!!! ...but I have noticed that bouts of stress can trigger it. For me it always feels deep in the muscle in right lower abdomen. One of my docs thought it might just be a spasm of some sort. Who knows. It comes and goes. I take armour and never noticed this affecting it at all. Good luck and let me know if you come across a good remedy!!!

IBS. That is the name they give you when they can't find out what is wrong, right? I never had a problem before. I haven't changed my foods either. Why would this start now? I don't need this problem with all my others. If it continues and I get an IBS diagnosis I will start searching for something to relieve it.
Maybe my thyroid is getting worse on this low dose and I'm getting more hypo symptoms.
