My last day at work today, a lot of mixed emotions.. Leaving behind some good work mates.
Shared a lot of joy and sorrow in the ten years of working with these people.. "I knew it would be tough descion, I was going to wait till the
end of the year.. Slight improvement on the real estate market, so I brought forward my Queensland move. I am now home from work.
A little bit teary reading my goodbye card.. I know deep down this is what I want to do.. Looking at my little apartment box's packed mess all around..
My puss cat "smoke" having a wonderful time with the the place upside down..
My bro Marty will make the move with me.. He will continue his chemotherapy treatment in Queensland. And then he plans to travel to the Top end of Northern Australia..
I am not so adventurous..
Move from Sydney will be enough for me.. So the actual move will be a week away.. I just thought I would share with my girls on PS..

Have a lovely weekend ladies.. smile.gif

gizzie....I'm reading your post and wondering why you quit your job. Maybe there was a subsequent post about it and I missed. In any event, I wish you and your brother well.

Seeking that sea change luvie.. It was something I should have done when my marriage broke up three years ago..
Friends have made the venture up north.. And so hey" I guess we are all looking for a soft place to land..

It would be hard to leave after 10yrs. Good luck!!

I keep thinking I want to do something else but with the way things are going in the economy I don't know.

Good for you! Moving can be such a scary thing but soooo exciting. If you are moving closer to your friends that is wonderful thing! Focus on the new job you will be getting if you get one and all the new friends you'll have there! Good luck and have fun!

Well, I think it sounds great. I know your's was your decision to quit and move, mine not so much and I'm counting as one of my blessings-that at least I like where I live. Don't always love-love it but usually I do.
If I did move away-how about do you think I could come stay with you? lol
Just trying to keep my spirits up!
Good luck with everything for you and Brother.

Good luck on your upcomming move and new adventures to come. We are also planning a big move next month back to Texas. There just doesn't seem to be enough time to get everything done, but in the end it all comes together. Keep us posted and let us all know when you settle in your new place. smile.gif

I wish you luck, it's hard to change especially when you are making so many changes at once. Are you from the area of Queensland? Will it be going home? Or all brand new? I have this quote for you... it helped me when I lost my job.. Not quite the same since this was your choice but it might remind you of why you wanted a change. :-) Best wishes and I'm so glad you aren't moving from PS. smile.gif

There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in travelling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place. ~Washington Irving

Moving is such a pain. Don't know about you, but I had no idea I had accumulated so much crap. And even moreso, don't kinow why I'm still hanging to most of it.

The good side is that when I moved from a huge metropolitan area (Houston) to a small rural area (East Texas), I lost 20 lbs and my blood pressure is down 20 points. Even though I miss the city, the move was good for me.

I hope that your move will have a similar good effect on you. Good luck to you, and best wishes to your brother with his chemo.
