Hi Ladies,

I got my lab results today and I am completely clueless as to what they mean? I hope someone can help me to interpret them?

Testosterone Serum 33 (normal 14-76)
Free Testosterone <0.2 (normal 0.0 - 2.2)

LH 4.2 (normal 0.0-76.3)

FSH 5.5 (0.7 - 5.6)

Estradiol 67 (Normal 19-528)

DHEA 219 (Normal 110-554)

Progesterone 6.6 ( No Range Given)

Anyone know anything about these levels? My doctor just said it was fine? I sure don't feel fine?!

Thanks for any input

Take Care

Hi Sunny,

Your free tes is a bit low.......Your LH is a bit low as your FSH is high within the range. What part of your cycle are you in? The report should indicate whether you are mid-cycle or not. Your Estrodiaol, although within range is quite low. With peri and depending which part of your cycle that you are in, your eostrogen levels will fluctuate, it is hard to get definitive results from blood.

Most doctors will tell you that if you are "in range" you are fine.......push it! Get a second opinion especially on that Eostrogen......it seems to low even accounting for fluctuations.......it will probably make you feel a bit low. I am not a doctor, but if you feel sick, get help until you feel better. Hormones can be a little like a fingerprint, different for everyone. 3 years ago, my eostrogen was 1350. It is now at 500. Menopause is <100, so I am "400" away from meno. Our ranges are a bit different to yours. So don't rely on one persons opinion.

Keep going till you get help, sweetie! Good luck smile.gif

your LH and FSH indicate you are not in menopause yet, but I am sure you already know that!!

I agree that your estrogen seems low. I am in menopause and use BHRT (estrogel and a compounded P gel) and my last blood test showed my estrogen at 156. I feel a lot better than I did before the hormones.

Thank you Ladies!!

My doctor said exactly that..that I was within range..ughhh.

She wants to put me on bioidentical hormones from a compounding pharmacy here in Houston. But, I don't know if I want to do that because they are in pill form, which means that it will pass through my liver. I have tried getting her on the same page as me..yeah, right?! She finally gave me Estrogel and Prometrium (200 mg)..do you think that is alot of Progesterone?

Thanks again!

Hi Ladies!
I just got the results from blood work I had asked my family doctor to send me for and I don't understand it. He said I am fine and not in menopause but probably peri. I have an appt. next Wednesday to see my gyno and I would like to be better prepared on what to ask him.

Testosterone 1.5
Free Triiodothyronine 3.8 Is this one my thyroid? I do take meds as I have hypothyroidism
Free Thyroxine (Free T4) 16 Is this one thyroid also?
FSH 5 What is this one and also the one below?
LH 6

Then there is this other stuff under FSH:
Follicular phase 1-11
Midcycle Peak 2-22
Luteal phase 1-8
Postmenopausal or Ovariectomized >35

Under LH:
Prepubertal 1-6
Follicular phase 1-25
Midcycle 25-55
(3-5XFollicular)
Luteal Phase 1-25
Postmenopausal or Ovariectomized 40-105

What does it all mean? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch!
Tracey
