My allergies have been soo bad this season and it doesn't seem to be letting up. I am mad. I tried zyrtec, it did nothing, now claritan, barely working. I use the neti pot, flonase and still, nada. I get pressure on top of my head, around my ears, nose, cheeks, eyebrows, etc. I just feel clogged, not infected. My ac is broken so I need the windows open and it adds insult to injury. Its been broken for three weeks and hopefully will be fixed soon. When I am indoors in ac for a while I feel fine, but get outside or in my house and the head pressure is awful. I even get a little dizzy at times, which freaks me out and then I get nervous and anxious and that leads to another whole mess.
I know you can't help, I am just whining.
Thanks for listening.

I feel for you. Sinus headaches are miserable. Wanted to share what's helped for me. First, you have to ban milk products from your life, if you haven't already. Lots of clear liquids through the day and no caffeine. I'm surprised the neti pot isn't helping you. I know that with sinus pain it stings like a bugger, especially during allergy season. I HATE to do it when my head feels like it needs a power drill instead, but I am never sorry. Can you can make yourself use it every single day? With the drops that go with it? Have you tried an OTC decongestant and tons of water? I also have one of those oil diffuser thingies - a mix of camphor and eucalyptus oil helps. Also, when the the top of my head and face are so full, I lay down on my back with an ice pack under my neck and over my face. with heat over the top of my head and over my feet. A physical therapist taught me this trick for back pain. It helps. I've also used bromelain for weeks at a stretch; now I just eat pineapple instead, but I think it helps. Cutting out milk is a biggie though. Good luck.

Oh, I will try the ice thing. Sounds wonderful.. I use just an eye one, but the neck sounds delightful. I will try the pineapple too. I considered adding sudafed to the mix, but hate feeling shaky and it has done that to me before, so I am not sure.
Thanks to both of you and I hope you are well.

I get the head pressure also, intermittently throughout the day, towards my period it gets worst so for me I know it is hormonal and not allergies. Antihistamines don't do a thing. When I was on BHRT, I suffered from no to little head pressure.

Ice on the neck works wonders. I suffer from sinus problems and suffered with migraines for years and this always worked for me.

Well, i finally bit the bullet and went to the doctor. As I suspected, a sinus infection and the ear was all red inside as well. I guess this explains it all. I can deal with the face pressure but the pain on the top of the head is very annoying. I almost went the the er, but knew already what it was, so I took a hot bath and just chilled. I started an antibiotic but an hour or so after taking it, I just shaky, really light headed, my skin burned and I felt so nauseaous. It lasted about an hour, but still I felt off. I guess I should call and get a different prescription.I am doing the neti pot, claritan, and nasonex, what;s left? I am so tired of it, I can tell you that. I guess I have chronic allergies, that will be around forever. Not fun.

Whine on, my dear Sister Enough. I have the same sinus pressure, pain, and headaches. I have had it since I was a small child, but I didn't know what it was until about ten years ago. I only take over the counter sinus pressure relief pills when it gets unbearable. I hear loud squeaking noises in my head when I lay down and turn my head from side to side. It is so loud my husband can hear the squeaking also. I have never met anyone that says that they can hear squeaking in their head also. Can u hear squeaking? Take care.
love,

I wonder if hormones make it worse. I always had seasonal allergies, the last two years have been awful, this year being the worst. It could be environmental as well. I dont' know, but I do know I feel crappy. I have a slight fever and I just feel "off" not at the top of my game, at all. I am trying to keep going, exercising, cleaning, estimates for work, etc, but my 3:00 pm, I am wiped out. I have been napping for three days now and that is not like me. I just want to feel good again. It's starting to get me down, I really am not good at not feeling well. As for the squeaking in the ear, more like crackling for me when things are moving. I

MY ALLERGY DR ACTUALLY TOLD ME ONCE THAT IT IS VERY RARE TO HAVE A SINUS "INFECTION". PEOPLE WITH SINUS INFECTIONS ARE VERY VERY SICK AND IT CAN CAUSE SEVERE PROBLEMS. MOST OF THE TIME THESE INFECTIONS ARE SINUSITIS. HE ALSO SAID THAT ANTIBIOTICS CAN MAKE THE SINUSITIS WORSE, I CANT REMEMBER WHY, BUT SOMETHING ABOUT THE SWELLING IN THE CELLS THAT THE ANTIBIOTICS CAUSE. HE TOLD ME THIS BECAUSE I WAS ON ANTIBIOTICS FOR A MONTH ONCE AND MY SINUSES WERE GETTING WORSE. WHEN I STOPPED THE ANTIBIOTICS, I HAD ALL KINDS OF CANDIDA PROBLEMS AND IT TOOK FOREVER TO RID MYSELF OF THAT. I DO HAVE CHRONIC SINUSITIS BUT HAVENT TAKEN AN ANTIBIOTIC IN PROBABLY 10 YRS. JUST A THOUGHT
