I've been sailing along just fine (relatively speaking...) and out of the blue a last week I began to experience some of the ugly symptoms that I went onto BHRT to get relief from.
Every morning I now wake up around 4 am in a puddle of sweat. Once I'm awake there is no getting back to sleep. My heart plunks and palpatations are back too. I'm also getting flushes and hot flashes in the morning before I put my E on.
I've been on E/P and T since October and found relief immediately. Now what the heck is happening.
Is is possible that I need to up my dose? Why isn't what I'm using carrying me through the night anymore?
Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do to remedy it?
I feel like I'm starting at square one now....
Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Have you checked in with your doctor about this? He/she will tell you if upping your dose is apt to help. You must be VERY disappointed to be dealing with these things again! One thing I do remember from the peri years is that hormones can fluctuate so dramatically, that what seems to help one day can leave us lost the next...

I pray you get relief again soon!

Thank you JJ. I appreciate your support. I have been tweaking my doses and timing of them the past couple of days and this seems to be helping somewhat.
I've added a touch more E and P in the afternoon so that I have some on board through the night. I think I needed to spread it out instead of "front loading".....:-)
Keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work.
Have a great day!

Dear Cathy
Am no expert but sounds like you need to have your dosage upped.I take HRT-no access to BHRT here-and the Gyno.put me on a double dosage when it was not working well.
Try to stay calm.Get to your prescribing Gyno.pronto and see what can be done
It is very draining to wake up so early in the morning drenched in sweat.

Warm Wishes

Same thing with me. sad.gif I have horrid chronic fatigue and feel 100 years old again. My doc isn't involved, so I have to deal with what I have. My doc said he doesn't know anything about BHRT and is leaving the details up to the pharmacist, which is fine with me (It's Pete with Belleview, who is highly skilled and experienced), but the doc has to okay any changes.

If your doctor is involved in this journey with you, then I say give him a call and ask about tweaking your dosage, etc.

As for me... I just have to hope and pray this fixes itself. :/

Best of luck, sweetie. I hope you can get some relief soon!
