I have so many symptoms that it is really hard to not be worried that something is really wrong with me. I recently started on bio-identicals and hopefully that will help. In the meantime everything from headaches, fuzzy thinking, feeling spaced out - like my body is not connected to my brain, aches and pains, and on and on makes me think about what if there really is something wrong and this is not just hormones. The one good thing is these things come and go and I ran most of them by my obgyn recently .....still I wonder - how do you not worry all the time about all of these weird symptoms!!!! And I am going to be really ticked if the hormones I am taking make all of this worse - I am really frustrated...

Hi Hoosiergirl:

Welcome to PS. Frustration is a big part of the peri ride. Hang in there and try to be patient. Hopefully the bios will work for you and you can get relief.

Hugs to you,

I started to track my symptoms into my agenda about a year ago or more.
When I was able to see the consistancy of how I felt vs what part of my cycle I was in, I was able to *Chalk it allup to* having another hormone episode. The scary ones seem to last a week or so but when I can look back and see that I have been through it before, it ables me to calm down and weather the storm.
The only draw back to charting it all is if anyone ever gets ahold of my agenda LOL!!!! They'd think I was nuts wink.gif
I'm 47 this year and have been at it for about 3 years now with the fatigue, am I dying, brain fog stuff.
It really helps to keep track smile.gif

I agree with girlsmom. The journal helped me more than anything. If you don't get your head around that it is part of normal ups and downs of peri then you will set yourself up for health anxieties.

very good idea on the journaling - I will do that - thanks so much - it helps to know others are going through it too

this is my new philosophy, too!! it's actually been very 'freeing' to have this new attitude toward the unending symptoms!!

LOL nc!!!!

I am 48 and started peri at 41. You will adjust somewhat to your symptoms. I say Somewhat because they will never be fun or comfortable but you will recognize it as peri.

I have had to go on an AD just to survive this time in my life. I am on my period at this moment and I have taken my husband on a nice peri "ride" this month. He told me his shoulders are strong and he can handle it. Wow.

Welcome to this season of your life. I wish I could tell you that it is a great time in your life but that would be a lie. Peri is a very lonely time of not too many people understanding what in the world is up. I can say that you will survive and you will make it. From what I understand, we come out stronger and much better on the other side of this.
