I am so confused now!!!!! I'm so sorry I have a ton of questions but all of this stuff seems SOOOOO contrdictory!
I read the article that was on the Aware site on Premarin ( Posted in a reply to my question yesterday about Premarin- how hard is it to come off and switch to a BHRT. ) The article made it sound like Premarin is a pretty good choice if you use it wisely- Excersize, eat the broccoli, and take anti-oxidants to balance the dangers. Ok - I don't like that I'm taking horse pee but the articles doctors made it sound like a reasonable solution if I excersized and took folic acid and broccoli!
Then I read an article on the Women to Women site that said it was very hard to come off of synthetic hrt-our bodies get used to it- our receptors get to where it only recognizes the synthetics and when you do come off its worse. That the longer your on it the worse coming off is..You'll mess up your system if you stay on Premarin....And that its just better to go on Bio-id's right from the start- look into pharmacutical bio id- like estrdiol pills. (And of course its just horrible that Premarin made out of horse pee. Bad for us and the horses.)
Ladies I'm getting scared. I love how I'm feeling better on this Premarin. I don't want to go through hell coming off some day though. ANd I don't want to spend two months coming off now and then two- six- or five months trying to find something else that works while I drive my poor husband and children nutso! But I want to be healthier in the long run!!!
Do I let her up my dosage from 0.3mg to what ever the next strength is? Do I go on something else....
SO! ***Should I tell the dr. to try me on Estrace pills- isn't that natural estradiol? Oh! THAT's the other thing- I am getting sooo confused about what's natural estrogen - Bio Identical.
My Doc says that most of her patients don't absorb the estrogen well through the skin so she prefers pills.
***Which bio-identicals are in pill forms?
I have never been able to tolerate any products with Mexican or Wild Yam in them so I'm assuming that the Vivelle products won't be tolerated by my system.
I can do soy ok.
Are any of the pills soy based?
Where do I even start with this?
Can someone help me sort through this so I can decide what to do with my doctor tomorrow Morning???
Getting pretty panicky here.. ; {
Thank You

I think that you have to do what feels right for you. My mother is 69 years old and still takes premarin. My grandmother lived to be 87 and still took premarin. I take Bhrt because I like the fact that the molecule for the bio's is identical to what your body makes. I have not tried premarin. But if I do not find balance with the BHRT. I would be willing to try anything that would make me feel better. I have a lot of anxiety, nervousness and overall feeling of uneasiness. I feel better than I did before I took anything however I still need to improve.
Big Hugs,
Kim
