I don't get periods anymore (knocking on wood and crossing all appendages) tongue.gif but my body aches are in the morning and then again in the evening. I have assorted aches/pains during the day but worse in morning and again at night. I am going to be tested for several different things in the coming week - auto-immune, adrenals, hormones blah blah blah....hopefully I will find something (anything!) out.

I always know when I'm about to start my period because my legs will really ache several days before and usually continues through my cycle. My aches can be any time of the day or night. My last cycles have been like a mini flu - I had body aches so badly before my cycle started that I thought I was coming down with the flu - last month I thought that it was the swine flu, it was bad...lived on Motrin.

Take care,
Tracey

thats exactly what is happening to me ,, about 3 days prior and through ..feel like I am comming down with the flu,, I just left my docs office .. blood work ok,, cholesterol a little high, I showed her the L-Theanine she is going to look into it ,, also she gave me a prescription for xanex that I am going to try to see if it also works on the body aches .. thanks for answering me !!

I have xanax but don't use it unless absolutely necessary for the panic...does it help with body aches? I've never really thought about it, just thought that the Motrin had finally provided the relief from the aches...maybe the xanax does help...will have to pay closer attention.

My neighbor also experiences the "monthly flu" with her cycles...awful.

Hope you're feeling well today.

Take good care,
Tracey

The bottom of my feet hurt really bad in the mornings when I walk about 2-3 days before period starts. That usually lets me know period is about to come. Never had that when I was younger. I also suffered with it when I had my baby and was breastfeeding him; real bad achy feet when walking first thing in morning. The doc I work for is the one who asked if I was breastfeeding my baby and he told me that is what it is from. He says stuff like that happens sometimes when a woman breastfeeds. Hormones are weird.

My back will get so stiff and painful several days before my period, my hips will hurt and my joint will get achey. I am getting my implants out in 2 weeks so hopefully, I will see a big difference in the pain syndrome. Debra

Thank you so much for all your replies .. it helps take the edge off of the menopausal "I must be dying" thinking wink.gif I read and read and read like all you ladies looking and researching my symptoms and what must be causing them,, I have found that we may or may not be releaseing an egg during these times and if we dont release the egg we get no progesterone ,, which causes the body pain .. progesterone regulated the GABA neurotransmitter in the brain .. xanex sort of replaces this neurotransmitter so if taken when we are the most anxious and in pain right before our period it should get rid of the body aches as well as the anxiety. I just got a prescription from my doc yesterday ,, I talked to her in great detail about this and this web site ,, she is so open and wonderful .. she was really interested. There is a suppliment you can get at health food stores called l-theanine which also does the same thing.. I tried it and it did work.. but made me feel like a jelly fish .. didnt want to get up off the couch... it helps tremendously to know there are others out there that get the 'Menopause Flu" !!
