Hi Bright Eyes!
Though I never experienced this personally I want to welcome you to peri on behalf of the gazillion women who have! I myself was one of the very few and EXTREMELY lucky ones who just stopped having periods...over, done, kaput, fini, etc. My hormones did what most don't...massive surge and then nothing. Most women's bodies do what your's is doing or at least something quite similar. It can take a couple years to several. Are these your only "symptoms" so far? Keep reading the posts...you will find a multitude of answers along with much support and encouragement here. These women are terrific! Welcome to the first stage of the next phase of your life. I hope and pray it goes smoothly for you.

Hi!
I saw your post and had to comment....used to be that my cycle was like clockwork, every 28 days exactly. Within the past few years, everything has changed dramatically. I can no longer rely on my clock! My cycle comes anywhere from 15 - 36 days and I never know what to expect...whether it will be heavy with lots of accidents (my poor clothes!) to lite brown yucky discharge for days on end...and it can now last for 7-8 days...used to be 4-5 tops. Briefly touched base on the 3 day period, loved that, but then that too disappeared! Sometimes I have bad cramps and other months not too bad...go figure. I have to say that this has become an issue, I must "plan" trips and activities around my cycle...we took a day trip into PA and had to turn around and come home due to my hemorraging problem...ugh!
I sincerely hope that I don't have to muddle through this for the next 10+ years, I just couldn't.
Take good care!

Hi Bright Eyes .. yes I am in the same boat .. about 3 years ago (when I started a new job ..great huh ?) I started with erratic periods .. 19 days apart,, then 22, 24, 17 , heavier more painful, longer ,, just crazy .. now they are starting to come further apart but the anxiety, body aches gerd have come along for the ride .. my mother told me that she stopped when she was 52 ,, so I am just hanging on for that light at the end of the tunnel ,, thinking in 12 months I should be done .. hopefully !
