Ok so I just had my period 19 days ago on the 3rd .than yesterday I started spotting this weird dark brown stuff yesterday, prior to this I thought I fealt a little PMS-ish and crampy but I thought..no way I just had a period less than 3 weeks ago so I just blew it off.This morning I have really bad cramps and a low back ache.I have had light brown spotting at the end of my period but never ever at the beginning, is this normal ?

Very normal in peri.Sometimes your periods will be closer together,then the next month it could take much longer to get there.The brown bleeding is normal as well.Hope you feel better.GOD-bless

I started all this early(at 29)and I decided to keep pads and pantyliners in purse all the time!Now that I am on low dose bcp however,I know when I am going to bleed.Much better for me and my clothes.Is that an option for you maybe?I take sprintc,but there are lots of different bcp-maybe ask your dr?GOD-bless

Actually my Gyno gave me 3 month supply of yaz so I will be strting it on Sunday ,I hope all goes well and it works well for me I need something.How can it be that my periods are all crazy and have bben for the last 7 months yet my levels come back "NORMAL" I swear getting my tubes tied 10 years ago was the biggest mistake I ever made,haven't been the same ever since.So how long can this last..15 years ?????

Hope you feel better on the YAZ. Have some friends on it and they love it. But everyone is different and you don't know until you try it.

Was told the brown blood is "old" built up blood that didn't slough off previously. More common to see this brown "sludge" with induced hrt bleed of meno. Can also see this blood during peri when we also get the joys of all kinds of bleeding for years..... yuck.

Anyway, having the tubes tied does greatly reduces the main arterial blood flow to the ovaries. So, yes it could have affected your timeline into peri. Hope you feel better soon. JZZ

This does sound so normal for peri. I have had 2 periods a month and then sometimes will be 6-8 weeks in between. Cruddy but normal. Also you asked how long this can last, I started this rigmorole at age 36. I am now 45, will be 46 this month. So yep it can last a while!!!!!!

I started this at age 29....i will be 45 in a few months so i agree with stitchnanny,it can last awhile.
