ok........i was on the prometrium 200, taking it days 1-14, then off til the 1st again. didn't like it cause it made my periods 10 days long. dr. had me start taking it continuously then (200mg, an i'm on the vivelle dot estrogen patch).........so.......then my pms was so bad.........very very , did i mention very? sore breasts......ridiculous........so i asked for lower dose..........so i switched to 100mg, continuous.......once i switched over it prompted another bleed............then it stopped for about maybe a week, then am bleeding now again........for almost a week. what's the deal? will this settle down.......what am i to expect on the continuous? (i'm 50, have been on b control pills for the hormones to control premenopausal symptoms, then switched to patch when my body just wasn't getting enough estrogen.........estrogen had gotten extremely low) will this bleeding gradually stop. i understand that on the prometrium continuous most people stop bleeding altogether within a year. i'm having a hard time understand what triggers a bleed and what will trigger it to stop. help please!! (at least right now i am not bloated, no sore breasts, but am bleeding) i'm not sleeping as well as i was when i was on the 200 taking it for half the month. but i don't want periods that are 10 days long either.............i know, i'm asking for a lot. but this regimen doesn't seem to be that great either.

I would guess that your body is adjusting to the lower dose of Prometrium and that if you keep taking it, the period should stop.
I was on continuous Prometrium and a couple of other types of P and each time I switched, I would spot and twice had a period but I hadn't had periods before I started HT.
Give it some time and it will settle.
