I am new to this site and happy to have found it. I have had chemo/rads twice for vaginal cancer. That is why I am in menapause. I have been taking Prempro .625/5mg for 12 months. It does help with vaginal dryness and my mood (ok, somewhat). But I totally lost my sex drive. So last week my gyno/oncologist agreed to prescribe Testim Gel 1%. It cam in a box with 30 individual tubs, one for each day. But the dose seems to high for me, the package is for men so I'm guessing that is why it told me that if my testicles begin to swell I need to contact my doctor right away. LOL. Will do!
My questions are, anybody on Testim gel, where do you place the gel (I've put it on the inside of my upper right thigh), the insert said shoulder, but I don't want to grow hair on my chest. At first I put it just under the belly button area but noticed I started to get cramps, like menstrual cramps, so that is why I switchd it to the thigh.
I am anxious for the day I see the results. I've taken it for 4 days, and what I noticed today is that I had a more instense orgasm(a very good thing!). I hope that means things are only going to get better.
I've also read some thread about rectal pain, like spasms. I want to join that club too because it has been happening to me for the 3 months. It also will happen after sex. I'm glad to see it isn't just me

I have lots of experience with testosterone gel so I will tell you what I know.
I had endometrial cancer three years ago and had a TAH/BSO, and lost my libido completely. Although I wasn't allowed HRT I was allowed to use a testosterone gel for men. I found it worked very quickly for me and I am glad it has for you.
It is far too strong for us girls really so I warn you to go very carefully.
Once your libido has returned which it seems to have done already-back right off. If you are not using any estrogen you won't need to use very much at all.
An overdose is horrid and even a tiny dot of the Testim can throw you into an overdose once you have enough in your system. More is not better. I have overdosed in the past and it actually kills libido and can make you agitated, depressed and bad tempered.It can take weeks for these side effects to go away.
What I did was to add a tiny bead of the gel into a pot of vaseline and mix it in well. Then you can apply a little to the clitoris without overdoing it. You can also dab it on your wrists or tummy, but straight on the clitoris gives the best result.
It sounds as though you are using a huge dose if you got your orgasms back after 4 days. That is what I did as my doctor didn't warn me to go really slowly. I would recommend that you don't use the stuff undiluted any more.
It has a cumulative effect and it can take several days to get the full effect from any dose you have taken so it is so easy to overdo it.
I still use no estrogen as it doesn't agree with me but I absolutely love my testosterone. Apart from libido it gives me energy and enthusiasm for life and makes me feel brave.

Thank for the advice and sharing. One tube is still lasting me, I'm figuiring the 30 tubes are going to last alot longer than 30 days. When I saw that the insert said one tube a day, I was NOT even going to try that. Thanks for the advice about mixing it with vaseline, I will try that tomorrow.
Since I didn't have a hysterectomy, just chemo/rads, then more rads in the form of Cyberknife, is why I can take the Prempro (both estrogen and progestrone).
It is nice to hear that somebody is seeing good results. Makes me hopeful!
Yes if you didn't have a hysterectomy you must take the progesterone to prevent the uterine lining building up. Do you still have your ovaries then, or have you had them removed or chemically put to sleep?
If you still have your ovaries then that is great because you will still get some benefit from them down the line!
I figure I have enough testosterone gel to last me forever. My doctor gave me 30 sachets too. It's bad they are not more informed about how dangerous it can be in overdose. A whole sachet used at once could make us very ill

Still have my ovaries, yes, they are chemically shut down. I was told it was permenant.
I'm so glad I went with my gut instinct on not using the entire sachet of testosterone. I'm guessing this box of 30 is going to last awhile. LOL.
