I've been experiencing some stiffness and pain in some of my joints mostly from things I'm doing to my body that it doesn't like......:-)
I have been told that taking these supplements might help.
My concern is that I've read some information about them and that they can cause bad stomach/bowel problems. I already have a sensitive stomach with GERD and I don't want to take anything that will be a problem in that way.
Anyone use this stuff? Does it work and does it upset your gut?
Thanks a bunch.

I have been taking Osteo Bi-flex for years, and it has helped me a lot with the joint aches. I use the triple strength tablets and take 2 per day. I haven't had any stomach problems either, but I don't have GERD or any sensitivities. The caplets I take are coated, so don't know if that helps or not if you have stomach troubles. But I take it faithfully and it works good for me.

I have gerd and a bit of a sensitive stomach myself and Ive used it with no problems. my only problem was that what I took I needed to take 3 times a day and they were huge horse pills. So with eveything else I take I just didnt follow thru. Its been helpful to a few people I know, its just that it may take uo to a month to notice improvement.

I may try again in the future but right now my main problems are the flashes and sleep.

Good luck,, Helen

I took it for a few months and have gerd and ibs and so no difference while taking it. I also saw no difference with the joint pain either. I guess it can't hurt to take, but the cost after a while adds up, so at this point I am adding calcium which I hear helps too. I am giving that a try. Rain really seems to make it worse for me. For a while there, all it did was rain. and boy, did I hurt!!! This week has been better.

Good luck.

Thanks for your replies guys.
I was concerned because some of the bottles have warnings regarding stomach upset and diarrhea while taking it which I don't want.
I don't normally have much joint pain (except my knees always give me trouble), but when I overdo it in the garden, paddling or yoga I don't recover that well anymore (gee, I wonder why).

I also wonder if there are some products that are better than others???

My dad has severe Rheumatoid Arthritis -- the only reason he's not in a wheelchair is his pride. He has taken these supplements for several years, and says they have done wonders for him. He claims he can move better and isn't in as much pain.

Elations.....it's in a drink formula. With my pilates, yoga routines...at 55.. glucosamine/chondrotin is a must. LOL

I have an extremely sensitive tummy. No problems with this formula at all. And it is far superior to pill forms.

Thanks guys,

Elations? Where do you buy it? I'm in Canada so should I just go to my health food store and ask for a G/C in a liquid formulation?

Weblina, good for your Dad. I'm happy to hear that he's going strong!

I take Glucosamine, Condroitin and MSM daily. Have been taking it for a couple years now. I started because of athritis pain in my knees and was just starting to work out at Curves and kept flaring up my knees with my workouts. It has been WONDERFUL! I too have to take meds for my stomach but, for me, adding these supplements have not added to that problem. The only problem I have ever had from them is #1 COST, if I don't find them 2 for 1 I usually won't try to buy them at that time.. #2 When I run out, if I don't get right back on them, there is another couple weeks waiting time to get the pain to go away again (so I have to stay on them alllll the time). Hope this helps a little.

That is the Brand Name I prefer to take also. Like I said though, cost does add up if you can't find it 2 for 1 (not sure where everyone is at but Walgreens and CVS often have those sales on them). And I agree, taking it faithfully is what helps.
