Have any of you started HRT and experienced hair loss? I was given Clamira Pro Patch ( lowest dose) and I looked at the side effects and it says hair loss! Well, that is exactly what I don't want as my hair has been in a steady shed for 2 years now( I have lost half my volume).

So, I want to try hormones, that is why I was glad that the Clamira was a real lose dose, but I don't want to lose more hair!

Are there certain ones that will help with hair loss or all they all pretty much the same as far as hair is concerned?

Thank you for any input you might have!!

Dear Sunny
Have never associated hair loss with HRT.The one I use Angeliq does not mention this side effect. In fact I have a better head of hair than some of my friends not on HRT.
How about asking your Gyno.for a different HRT which does not have this effect.

First of all, just because something is listed as a possible side effect of a medication, DOES NOT mean it will happen. The FDA demands they list those - even if only one person out of a hundred experiences it. So, please do not think if you take this medicine that your hair is going to start falling out.

Second, I am on the lowest dose of FemHRT...have been for almost 2 years, and I still have a very healthy head of hair! Have not lost any more than one normally does over the course of a day. I don't know if FemHRt has possible hair loss listed as a side effect, because as long as I am doing ok, I don't bother reading all that and start putting ideas in my head. Believe me, I am sensitive to many meds, and allergic to several. I break out in horrible hives when I take penicillin and a few other antibiotics. But, even with my history, I have never had trouble taking my hrt.

You might want to talk further with your pharmacist and doctor before deciding to start the meds. Good luck!

Di
