After going to the doctors for years with ongoing health problems and finding no answers, I am finally turning for help. I am a 20 year old student who is severly overweight. I've always had irregular periods since I was 14. I only got my period once a year, and for the past 3-4 years, I haven't gotten any at all. 2 years ago I started having chest pains, which my doctors dignosed as "stress". A year later I was still having severe chest pains, and starting to experience new symptoms - trembling, numbness in my hands, pain in my arms, burning sensation in my chest. I have gotten EGS's done, worn holter monitors, you name it! And the doctors can't seem to find an answer. I'm afraid to go to sleep at night - because that's when I start to experience most of these symptoms. I 'm kept awake for hours because I can feel my heart start pounding and racing. I almost feel like it's going to explode out of my chest or that I am having a heart attack. Could I be having pre-meno? I was told that I have an insulin resistant pancreas, ovarian polycystic ovaries, and my testosterone level is a bit high. Any help or answers?

Welcome, koshercat! You are so young to be here, but maybe we can help a bit.
With these symptoms, along with the PCOS, it's likely this is all caused by hormone imbalance.
So I would say that you need to get your estradiol and progesterone levels checked (blood tests). Have you noticed a pattern to your symptoms? Do they seem to happen at a certain time in your menstrual cycle, and if so, when? If there is a pattern, then getting those tests done during that time would be the best. If there is no pattern, then getting 2 levels drawn at different times in your cycle could give you some clues. One during the follicular phase around day 3-4, and one during the luteal phase on day 21-23. The day you start your period is considered the first day of your cycle.
I have had all these symptoms, as have many of the women here, and we got relief by getting our hormones balanced.
Hopefully someone here who has had PCOS will reply and have some better answers for you.
